Tonight, 9pm,
Here and on Youtube
Goodness me if Tuesday night wasn’t a humdinger of an episode, fiddliness in vision mixing and accidentally touching an answer notwithstanding, and tonight we have three different people all vying for a place in tomorrow’s grand final LIVE right here at 9pm.
Do join us for that. Or watch on catch-up, but please be warned that we might have to mute/blank some of the clips for repeat viewing.
You can catch-up with the story so far here.
LIVE at 9pm!
Ha ha, a bit messier tonight but we got there in the end. A big thanks to our players. Tomorrow it’s the final!
I didn’t expect it to be that tense.
Ohhh if only my webcam was working. The facial expressions would have been amazing.
I’ll address the ‘domestic animals’ thing on air tomorrow, but as it turns out it was absolutely the correct decision, not only because otherwise the joke didn’t work, but because one of the clues is ‘domestication’ – if it appears in written form (not only on the puzzle board but also on a clip) it won’t be an answer.
Alex might have been unlucky with ‘it’s underneath the House of Lords’ not registering for ‘lower house’ though. The fact is basically right and the one I’m after even if the terminology isn’t. Unfortunately running the game and the broadcast requires a lot of mental bandwidth and occasionally parsing what people are saying in the heat of the moment when it’s not as written down on the card can sometimes be quite challenging! Simplicity of keywords deffo something to consider for series two.
Oh and should have said on air, the two swords is based on the apparently untrue idea that the distance between the benches is two sword lengths.
Liam unfortunate with Pop Idol Final but the ‘final’ element too important to omit, especially given the other four answers. The top answer is always going to be ‘the event’, so if it hasn’t registered you’ve missed a critical element.
Actually watching it back other than the unfortunate video incident (good news, I’ve checked tomorrow’s and had to replace two so in a way thank goodness this happened today) it wasn’t quite as messy as it felt. Should be a great final tomorrow!
I don’t know if this is a deliberate feature but in the rounds where you talk about a subject, the answers are only blurred out and darkened so you can approximate the length of them. From this it was quite easy to tell whether it was a date to loo for or something else.
Is this a legitimate strategy or not?
Thanks
Yes that’s a feature of the original as well. I think you have to be quite on the ball to backwork the answers in such a fashion though.
I think Alex picked up on this during the Ikea round, but fell into the trap of trying to find a year rather than MDF.
