Thanks to @JonathanEx on Twitter for the link, who also suggests “I think they have a regular cast, but a weekly guest celebrity.”

Is DAMAB the first live panel show? I can’t think of any others.

I meant regularly live. Though I do feel like Celeb Juice live is a bit ununnecessary and doesn’t add much to the show.

I seem to remember short-lived and totally unmemorable C4 panel show A Short History of Everything Else was initially announced as a live show, presumably with the idea that the audience would be able to join in. But when it finally appeared on TV, it wasn’t.

Ooh, of course What’s My Line was live in the fifties, and indeed during the eighties as well. The latter especially seems a bit pointless but the TV Times for the launch of the series suggests they did so because it was in the fifties. It was also in black and white in the fifties, but they didn’t feel the need to go that far.

RTL Plus continues remaking old game shows: They will produce a season of The Price Is Right to air in September. They won’t use the studio they used for their other remakes because the lack of audience would be terrible. We don’t know yet whether this will be some sort of primetime thing or access primetime like the others. They would certainly have to remake another show to keep their strategy of airing two episodes of two different shows each everyday. I hope they’ll try Let’s Make A Deal or Sale Of The Century!

Funnily, the production company behind most of the RTL Plus revivals (UFA) has secured the facebook pages for Sale and Deal. Great news!

I have no idea, but he was just on RTL Strictly dancing as terrible as Anne Widdecombe, but not funny enough to survive the first elimination. However he seems to have connections to RTL, I hope.
Otherwise I could imagine Jan Köppen (not a game show host yet, but young, funny and with a certain something that could work), but no one else from RTL group shows comes to my mind.

Mmm, apparently pitched as being ‘a bit like Wild Things’. I fear it might miss quite a lot of WT’s nuance.

Still though, Jenny Powell and Kriss Akabusi, together at last.

How is this doing, ratings-wise? I watched S03E03 randomly (link active on r/panelshows) which featured a decent mix of old and new tasks. Even the ‘old’ tasks brought about some interesting new solutions which we didn’t see here.

This appears to be an official ratings report for Swedish TV for a (two-week?) period in March. It shows that Bäst i Test is apparently SVT1’s fourth-highest-rated show, with 1.189m viewers. (Since it’s a PDF, I can’t auto-translate it, so I’m making an educated guess here.)

And indeed, BiT is mighty fine television. I’d dare say it’s the best of the international versions. Not exactly the same show as UK Taskmaster, but the differences are mostly positive. (David Sundin’s “interviews” are fun, as is the in-studio game they always play right after that. Last week’s “Frågesport” segment was hilarious! It’s at 27:50 here, with English subtitles:
