Unexpected news this morning, Robot Wars is getting a six episode reboot.
I wonder how much a fairly successful Battlebots reboot in the US last Summer contributed to this.
In other news the Poll of 2015 closes at 23:59 TONIGHT so get your skates on. It’s already a record-breaking year in terms of amount of people voting, so thanks for that.
When that Battlebots reboot happened, I said at the time this was an inevitability – and I was proven right 😀
Please, please, please ensure that Craig Charles and Jonathan Pearce are part of this reboot…
Okay, Bothers, you have showed interest in weirdly well-done Russian adaptations of British game shows. This is next on the line. Guess what is it?
It’s “The Chase”! In Russia’s internet it has huge success, already going for second season. Contestants are intelligent, chasers are monsters of General Knowledge (but still have no nicknames, shame) and money prizes are not bad as well (Cash Builder is now around £1, 5 times more than in Series One, and this is just for hour of fun, amazing). Graphics are fab. Must-watch.
Jonathan Pearce is the must-get for me for this with Craig a close second. Hope a fair few of the old house robots show up for continuity. But otherwise…

The live tour people have been using a replica of Matilda made from the original body moulds, and a legally sidestepping crossbred of Sgt. Bash and Mr Psycho called Major Damage.
The real Bash and Matilda are around in a London lockup (but possibly non functioning), not sure what happened to the others – allegedly they were reclaimed by BBC visual effects and possibly cannibalised for other projects. Should be relatively easy to put something together that resembles them, though.
