Thanks for all your votes so far, we’ve almost had as many ballots as last year, and there’s still a few days left to vote – get them in before Wednesday. It’s very tight in certain places and I think the eventual results will make interesting viewing.
Also don’t forget that as the new episode of Wie is De Mol goes out on Dutch TV tonight, if you want to play Daniel Peake’s The Suspect List game you’ll need to get your episode one guesses in this afternoon. So get watching.
The new series of The Mole will be the first show in Holland showing the new viewing habits and its the ratings view. As you all are aware, the latest season moved from it’s Thursday slot to Saturday eve prime-time, taking in more competition from RTL4, while also taking away the ‘office talk & buzz’ the next day at work.
First episode rated 2.167.000 viewers (28% share in general demo 6+), beating RTL4, however the second episode lost a fair amount decreasing to 1.844.000 (26%), with the Linda de Mol quiz ‘Weet ik Veel’ returning to 1.732.000 (25%) on RTL4.
With consolidated viewing, the first episode of the Mole raised to 2.8 mln viewers, adding almost a third extra. It will be interesting to see how this plays out for the series and in the press. Lower numbers for the first run on TV, but keeping its audience throughout the week. Obviously, as it airs on the public broadcaster, there is less pressure from advertising perspectives, but still – the hype from the last 2 seasons is definitely not happing at the moment.
Additionally, there was a sort post-analysis show called ‘Moltalk’ since a couple of years online after the broadcast. This year, it is the lead-out on NPO1 following the episode directly. Last week attracted 1,1 mln viewers, yesterday 900k.
