The first one didn’t seem to do very well (I gave up around episode four) but it had its fans, and I suspect it doesn’t hurt being a) cheap and b) made in Northern Ireland (quotas ahoy!). It annoys us less than The Quizeum and we still enjoyed Fiona Bruce’s hosting.
Anyway if you were hoping for a second series, looks like you’re in luck:
Some great news coming up re: Hive Minds especially if you want to take part

Really happy to hear this, and very happy a Belfast quiz show keeps chugging along! Hopefully they make some improvements to the second series and it gets a real fighting chance at success.
Hive Minds 2: Hive Harder
Was some good games, a couple of one-sided ones though.
Hopefully a wider group of people (beyond UC and OC alumni) next time…
Jesus not a series two!
Good news Jon! E-mail casting@saltbeef.tv by December 20th for an application form. Good luck!
The weak link, I always felt, was Fiona. Each show began the same: “Hello, and welcome to Hive Minds, where simply knowing the answers isn’t enough – you’ve got to find them as well”. Victoria Coren Mitchell could always shoehorn an anecdote somewhere, even at the expense at “Hello, and welcome to Only Connect”. Plus the fact that Fiona’s voice is emotionless, I know she can’t help that, but I do think that if they’re going to create a second series, replace her. What’s Alex Lovell doing nowadays?
Give the girl a chance, I say. If you look back at the first series of Only Connect, VC-M (or plain old VC as she was then) was a lot stiffer and more formal than she is now, and of course had to take a lot more time explaining the rules than she does nowadays. Not a million miles different to how Fiona Bruce was in this.
I’d also argue that although she’s a great host, her intros are becoming rather, er, an acquired taste.
