Here’s some fun, take on celebrities in quizzes on the BBC Taster site. They’re best of five.
There’s a slightly annoying thing where if you take your cursor of the screen the player buttons stop you from hitting the C option. Still though.
Was there, or was there not, an MSN webseries a bit like this where you took celebrities on in a general knowledge quiz?
In other news, episode five of The Genius is now up.
Yep- it was called “Outsmart” IIRC- it was done by some of the You Don’t Know Jack people. From what I remember, it had two rounds- Round 1 had you and the celeb answer the same set of questions with four possible answers- you got points if you got it right, and a bonus if you got it right and the celeb got it wrong.
All the questions were tangentially related to the celeb or their roles in some way, though the connection might be punny or joke-based..
as a example, if the celeb was Rupert Grint, a question might be “Say Ron Weasley was a real weasel. In what city would he be least likely to live: London, Sydney, New York, or Tokyo? Answer: Sydney, as weasels are not native to Australia)
The final round was called Hoparazzi. It used a series of quick questions to link the celeb to another celeb in a roundabout way- again, puns could be used here:
Example:
If Rupert GRINT was dating Jacinda BARRETT, they’d be Grint and Barrett (Grin and Bare it)- here’s how they could get together:
Rupert GRINT’s character Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies was in the house of Gryffindor, which was represented by what animal?
LION
The LIONs are an NFL team located in which city?
DETROIT
DETROIT is connected to which Canadian providence by the Ambassador Bridge?
ONTARIO
What is ONTARIO’s largest city?
TORONTO
TORONTO is the location of the house of the Canadian version of what reality franchise?
BIG BROTHER
BIG BROTHER is a reality franchise set in a house, what other reality franchise set in a house was developed by Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray?
THE REAL WORLD
and THE REAL WORLD: London is where Jacinda BARRETT became well-known for the first time….
all the questions were one of two options, you had a total of 30 seconds to get through them all. Correct answers got you points, getting a question right that the celeb missed got you extra points, and whatever time you had left after answering all the questions was turned into points. High score won, if you beat the celeb you got a wallpaper you could download.
In other news Pick Me has been commissioned, although I’m trying to get my head round it:

Well done everyone.
