OK, smart London-based quizzers wanted for a runthough of a new format in London next week. Teams of three required. They will be at Archway on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th from 1-5pm. Travel expenses and lunch will be provided. If that sounds like you, fire off an e-mail for more details.
Don’t forget we are also playing Mario Kart 8 tomorrow night! Here are all the deets.
Apparently there’s an update to the Tipping Point app with the doubler counters. Amazing.
Spit-ballin’: if a TV channel wanted to produce something akin to Gameshow Gauntlet, what channel would be in the best position to do so? Channel 4 probably doesn’t have enough shows to warrant that format, so it would come down to BBC or ITV, and ITV probably has more experience at this sort of thing (with the Gameshow Marathon).
Would a channel even be able to conceivably produce something like Gauntlet, or would it be impossible due to format ownerships? When it came to something like gameshow Marathon, I assume all the shows were made by different companies, how did they work that one out?
It’d probably be easy enough to negotiate them as a one-off, especially if there’s the prospect that their old property might turn into a series later on.
