It’s been almost a month since Schlag den Brig became THE internet sensation the world was talking about.
Well plans are afoot for a sequel of sorts which will hopefully be even bigger and more exciting. The question we’re wondering is who do you want to see competing? Here are our current options:
- Me vs Dan again.
- Me vs someone else.
- Dan vs someone else.
- Me or Dan vs someone else put to a viewer poll, like on telly. That would have to be done in advance as there would only be two sets of props.
- Two completely different people.
Obviously me and Dan are highly photogenic and we (well, I) have a good internet connection – that second part is rather crucial. We’re just putting feelers out there right now, any decision will be made later.
Well if you want to open it up to members of Ver Public, I would happily fill out an application form to be a contestant!
Winner stays on. I think having the same contestants every time will be a bit dull.
Surely everyone has a good internet connection in this day and age?
Viewer vote works too.
Surely everyone has a good internet connection in this day and age?
You’d think that, but you didn’t see the panic on our faces when Dan’s connection developed a ten-second delay about two minutes before we were meant to go on air.
I’d also be up for applying to be a contender if you’re willing to open it up to the public
As much as I’d LOVE to be part of this, my net connection is severely lacking, so I wouldn’t be able to 🙁
I like the idea of Dan vs someone else, with the name Schlag Dan Peake.
I’m not doing a new logo again, regardless of who’s taking part. Whatever we decide, it’ll still be done as a Bother’s Bar co-production.
Maybe it should have a new general title.
How about taking a leaf from the Schlag Den Star book, and changing it to Schlag Den Bar (with suitable overstamp)? Nice and generic, as a Bar representative takes on whichever candidate.
That’s really not the worst idea anyone’s had, something to consider, David.
Potential contestants: if you get the ippotunity it might be an idea to get on Fifty Fifty as a guest. This would ensure you’re likely to have the necessary technical know how and a reasonable idea as to whether we want four hours of you or not.
There are a lot of ideas in the air at the moment, including some Krypton Factor esque filmed in advance stuff potentially. Absolutely nothing set in stone yet.
Not-terrible idea: instead of kandidat VTs, which we can’t reasonably expect everyone to do, we could have kandidat interviews on Fifty 50 for people to use to decide their votes?
It might also be an idea for David to reintroduce his Labyrinth Labs.
The point is, I think, it’s never going to be someone who we don’t know, too much effort goes into it for someone unreliable to get picked. So if you get opportunities, go for them!
Yeah, I was also toying with it being a Schlag den Star idea, because Nick could be around to be the Joker (maybe one use per contestant) so that he’s still involved but we can still shuffle the contestants for new blood.
However, I’d still like to try out mostly new games rather than German retreads.
We’ll call it Schlag den Baar! Geddit?!
Oh yes very much yes.
On a less amazing pun related note; I’m not much for competing but I do have a few game ideas to contribute. Obviously I won’t share them here as more competitive eyes are watching!
Cue up One Moment In Time, ‘cos we’ve got a winner!
I have Photoshop, I could knock up a logo if people want it.
Ooh yeah, the one thing that struck me during SdB 1 that nobody has yet commented upon is that I reckon I would have lost rather badly to either of you. So, er, not me, but yay Schlag den Bar!
It seems a shame for Brig to be knocked out so soon after putting so much effort in to getting the ball rolling in the first place!
My vote goes to treating the last one as a pilot, then a rematch between Dan and Brig as Ep 1, followed by winner stays on from that point.
Well in fairness it’s David’s idea and effort, I came up with the title when I heard about it as easily marketable.
After the success of SdB1, I think it should take the form of a Sunday night at the local pub pool table – winner stays on. I think we could have a public vote to play the winner each time a week beforehand.
Italy has a new Prime Minister!
and he has been a Wheel Of Fortune champion too!
what could possibly go wrong?
