Well done to Take On The Twisters!

By | October 9, 2013

Take On The Twisters frankly stunned everyone when it won Best Studio Based Gameshow at the C21/FRAPA Format Awards at the world’s biggest telly trade show MIPCOM this evening despite getting even lower viewer and critical ratings than the show that won it the year previously.

The candidates for the awards were initially selected by C21Media.net’s community of 35,000 international television executives. Then a panel of buyers voted from 10 selected formats within seven genre categories.

We are sure it will become as big an international success story as previous winners of the award The Bank Job, Epic Win, Pretty Smart, The Encounter and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

This is what we thought of the show.

I’ve just bet my house on The Million Second Quiz winning it next year.

Here are the other awards for what they’re worth.

Do you have a list of the nominees somewhere? I’m curoius to see what the judges deemed to be lacking the je ne sais quoi of Take On The Twisters.

I think they were around on the C21media site somewhere but I can’t seem to see them anymore.

I’m pretty sure Face the Clock was in there.

One can only imagine the dental work needed to repair the damage to the teeth that you just gritted by typing that without punching the screen.

Really loved Take On the Twisters – it wasn’t perfect but a few tweaks and it could have been really great. Hope they give it another chance!!!

I will admit that Twisters had a good idea behind it, the twister-juggling rounds were fun. The only problem is that they made up 5 minutes of a 46-minute show, the rest being tough to watch at best.

Well, Mentor won an award as well and it’s one of the worst talent shows ever. The system just doesn’t work and there is no reason to think it’s exciting. Okay, the idea is not that bad, the execution is horrible. However I like Take On The Twisters…
