    Welcome back.

I was thinking, if we were to show Schlag Den Raab to kids learning German, it would be (aside from the English sweary bits) a really good lesson. They’ll get verbs, numbers, countries, etc.

In Germany last night, there was a ratings showdown between Schlag den Raab and Alle auf den Kleinen (RTL gameshow with Oliver Pocher). Raab won by a country mile.

    SdR – 2.62m (13.2%) overall. In 14-49 demo; 1.61m (21.1%).

    AadK – 1.58m (7.1%) overall. In 14-49 demo; 0.67m (8.2%).

Whilst the shares are impressive, the amount of people watching Schlag den Raab is going down. Alle auf den Kleinen has dropped by almost 2.5m since it’s first outing in January. It is getting a couple more episodes, but if it doesn’t pick up, then it will get cancelled.

Also, there is a new gameshow tomorrow; Die 2 – Gottschalk und Jauch gegen alle. From 7.15pm UK time on RTL. Basically Thomas Gottschalk and Gunther Jauch take on the studio audience and all the viewers at home in a quiz and guesstimation games. Viewers can phone in or text to take part.

Interesting, I wondered how that battle was going to go down. Suspect they probably dented each other a bit, but that’s a good demo for Raab at least.

    welcome back!

and Affari Tuoi is back, too.

this year’s gimmick is “play your bad luck”: at some point the Doctor (who is now a woman) can offer to turn the tables around. if the contestant accepts, all red values become worthless and when only blue values remain in play the game ends with the contestant winning €10,000 for each blue value left.

Play Your Bad Luck is literally turning the game on it’s head. I’m going to do a write up on my blog this weekend.

Am I thinking right they have decided to keep the identity of The Doctor a secret? Given previous series/years we knew him as Max Novarsi.

the identity of the Doctor (Doctress?) is being kept hidden at the moment.

the Pacco Matto is now the “Matta” (wild card). it shows the king of coins as seen on the playing cards used in Rome. it’s holding box number 10 because it’s the show’s 10th year.

in the game of Sette E Mezzo it’s a wild card which causes the deck to be reshuffled after the round it comes out.

a Roman joke for when an extravagant person appears is “shuffle the cards, the wild’s out!”

    Welcome back..
Now, adding 0.1k towards the next ‘crash’!

Thoughts in an odd moment – part 94.

I know someone will come up with the answer to this one – but is Break The Safe, one of the most ‘tightest’ lottery quiz shows in terms of the amount on the cheque given to the winners we’ve had for a while?

It seems to be formatted to give away around £20,000 or less per episode – which would put this under the average of £50,000ish Init to winit gives away most shows, and (granted given a descent run) lower than what a couple could trouser after the total is split on Who Dares Wins.

    Just wunderin…

Last night the new Gottschalk/Jauch show premiered. About 7 million people wanted to see that (between 22% and 27% market share in all demographics), but the critics weren’t to happy with the show. They see it’s mainly there to show how great Jauch and Gottschalk are together but the format had big issues. The entire “against Germany” part with the phone-ins and everything was badly explained and way too boring, they say. I think you can watch it on RTLnow, I will try that tonight, as I haven’t seen it.
