Bank(er) Holiday Monday

By | May 6, 2013

ENJOY your day off, I’M WORKING.

This does look great, however:

I hope they’ve got the money amounts in futuristic font, although that might be a step too far.

They made the offers in the Love Week all in different fonts, they probably will here.

Except we ended up with… still Eurostile.

Which, in fairness, makes sense because Eurostile is practically a “futuristic font” trope in itself.

Is it just me or did the DoND space set actually look like, well, any other game show set of the last 15 years? Cracking challenge though, genuinely doable for once but with real potential to go spectacularly wrong.

Once, just once, I want to see a DoND skill game that’d be good enough for SdR.

Have they changed to these skill games rather than some other random picks due to the stupid inquiry into “gambling” on TV shows which was quite rightly axed before it even began – yet TV companies still live in fear of it.

    UCHU KITAAAAAA and whatnot.
They’ve really done an excellent job with the set this time. The last few themed sets I can remember weren’t as interesting as usual.

In anticipation for this weekend’s Schlag den Raab, why not go and download the new (as far as I can tell) Schlag den Raab app?

It appears to have 5 games; Blamieren oder Kassieren, Stimmt’s?, Shuffleboard, Shooting, and Count the Dots on the Ladybirds. So, 3 you can actually play then.

What I haven’t found is any kind of announcement of who this show’s music guests will be.

Hurts?! YES! My favourite band in the world right now! Will probably be the first time I watch SdR in full too 🙂

Gentleman and ZAZ have both been on the show once before.

I may have remarked to one or two of you, or all of you several dozen times, that I don’t have time for DoND and consider it mean of spirit. I’m not even a fan of its music. Nevertheless, the music this week is tremendous, and it turns out that I may have A Bit Of A Thing for people in sci-fi make-up. Very good, carry on.

In other news, remember that Curiosity touch-all-the-cubelets game? At the start of May they said “right, let’s declare the next fifty layers the last fifty”. Estimates suggest that the game might only last another 19 days or so, but I would not at all be surprised if people started cashing in their trillions of points for badgers (apparently) and mega chisels and the last layers might disappear in the blink of an eye. I was kind of looking forward to the last layers being (e.g.) 2x2x2 and thus entire faces could be blatted with a single click but the existing tech at least has a chance of working properly this way which otherwise surely could not have been the case.
