Right, one of the exciting things about the NEW! Bother’s Bar is that I can see what people are searching for to find this place, and some of the search terms are rather interestingly leading.
So: that big Amanda Holden Crystal Maze rumour? It looks like it’s The Door, the show based around Bushtucker Trials ITV were getting excited about towards the end of last year.
For all the people missing Who Dares Wins – La Lista is back on La 2:

Out of interest, does anyone know if Who Dares Wins will return to the UK? For me, it was one of the best lottery formats – simple idea, but effectively executed.
quite. agreed.
well there has been a series filmed as i understand it, so presumably once the run of in it to win it has finished.
Confirmed today (via Digiguide), Who Dares Wins returns on Saturday 6th March, 8pm.
It’s about bloody time!
Its great when your network censors your own show, thats whats happening to the bubble

The Bubble looks in Trouble

(Sorry possible double post)
Sorry Chris, software flagged it as spam.
The Bubble is only in trouble if both ITN and Sky also pull out… and not necessarily even then. It’s a shame that BBC News isn’t contributing, but I can understand their concerns, in this internet age when context-less clips get quickly propagated around the internet. And ultimately, it’s not really their job to be making inserts for panel games, so if they refuse, then fair enough.
Thank god for that! I’m sure it’ll be as successful as Big Top and Fantasy Lives.
The four lottery shows this year are In It To Win It, Who Dares Wins, Secret Fortune (no, me neither) and another one that potentially hasn’t been commissioned yet. Dale and Nick Knowles doing two each.
Judging panel for new Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals show announced;

Apart from Church who will be ‘good value’, I don’t like.
Secret Fortune appears to be Deal or No Deal but with a quiz element involving envelopes and a shredder.
Ooh, and I notice there’s no 1 vs 100 on your list.
I guess that all but confirms that 1 vs 100 won’t be returning.
I can only gather that having so many contestants meant that in the end it was considered too expensive to produce…
the strange thing is 1vs100 really held its own in the ratings, if i remember rightly, doing fairly well against stiff itv competition and also improving on its lead in. but i think we’ve known for a while it hasnt been coming back due to the dale/nick two a piece contracts, short of dale getting 1vs100, of which i am looking slightly scared at the prospect.
When 1 Vs 100 returned in 2009 it was beating ITV in the first two weeks but when Britian’s Got Talent returned it got slaughtered and didn’t register on the top 30 BBC1 shows for a few weeks..
Provided we get four lottery shows this year, last year we only had three. Then the four shows will be, Who Dares Wins, Secret Fortune and two series of In It to Win It. Dale is on a two year contract to host two lottery shows a year, also 12Yard have recently put out a contestant call for another series of In It to Win It. Which is around the same time last year Endemol put out a call for 1 Vs 100.
Well, of course, it famously peed all over The Colour of Money from a towering height, but surely the BBC expected to some extent that it, Casualty and any other show clashing with BGT might suffer in the ratings?
A few episodes getting well beaten by a Talent Show Featuring Simon Cowell wouldn’t be considered a factor in its departure by me – it being considered too expensive to produce still comes across as being the most likely reason.
Is Mr Barrowman ill, then?
No, he is fine. His website shows he is making TV appearances in the next few weeks. It could be down to two factors. Either he is doing stage work or since BBC Productions isn’t producing the show but Talkback Thames is, they might want a change to the judging panel.
and in other news, seesaw.com launched today, which appears to be an iplayer/4od cumulative thing, like the kangaroo project banded around a while back. but it appears to be crossed with spotify, meaning ads included.
had a quick look, but currently all the game show content appears to be channel 4, so its to be presumed that its all already on 4od, but still, the prospect is there.
Ooh, it’s got The Search with Jamie Theakston which was, of course, brilliant.
If, perhaps, a little cliched in areas. Great fun, and really interesting (Encasing messages in wax balls and having the messenger swallow them as an early form of stegenography?) mind.
