Who would like to become a millionaire?

By | January 31, 2013

WWTBAM? is on the look out for civilian contestants so presumably they’re doing another The People Play week or whatever. If you want to appear on “TV’s biggest game show” then the link with all the details is here. Closing date 7th April.

Quiet period at The Bar, sorry, but we do have at least two recordings of new shows happening within the next six weeks or so so that will be exciting.

This Sunday is game two of the Bother Series of Poker, open to anyone who can play and can stake the $5.50. That’s Sunday at 8pm. Here are the details. We had a brilliant turn out for game one, hopefully game two will be just as good.

I think this came up years ago when STV first starting putting their things on Youtube. Still, sometimes its nice to be reminded.

Disappointed they cut out the references to the viewers competitions as they were frequently very funny.

I’ve applied for Millionaire along with Countdown, so I’ll see how those go. I THINK I’m still in the running for The Chase as I got an email on the 16th about it, saying that those that expressed interest in being put forward for later series are still in the mix for being selected, and I’m SURE I ticked that box on the form…

Well with 300 civillian editions of The Chase being recorded over the next year or so Andy, they are going to need 1,200 contestants – so if you don’t get at least an interview/audition you’ll be really unlucky!

Now a general cry in the gloom – has anybody been allocated tickets for the first (or any) recording of ‘Beat The Pack’ yet?

I applied for tickets a couple of weeks ago, and all I have is the ‘yes you’ve applied’ generic email.
Curious to know if they’ve started chucking them out (book up cheap advance rail tickets to Landaan and al’that)but with 8 days till taping tomorrow, I would have thought I’d have heard back by now.
By the way – happy to report back if I do get them, unless someone has offered to do the ‘watching telly’ honours already.

Oh, and this appeared in the New York Times today. A good piece (but occasionally sneery) about Wetten Dass?

I already auditioned and was shortlisted all the way back in August 2011.

Yep, I’ve got tickets and will be going. They only came yesterday though, and I’ve found BBC ticketing amusingly unreliable in the past. So keep a look out.

      Fun article.
