LADS, get ready for EXCITING MAN ON MAN SMACKDOWN ACTION (also featuring women) as we do MALE THINGS (also featuring women) such as:
- PLAY POKER! AGGRESSIVENESS will probably win you possibly hundreds of dollars in the Bother’s Bar Christmas Bonus. It’s a $10+1 deep and steep unlimited rebuy event and it’s open to everyone provided they’re a member of the Bother’s Bar Poker Club. The club is free to join but don’t delay as I will have to approve you, and I’m not going to be able to do that until I get home at about 7:30. The game begins at 8pm. There is ten minutes late registration, but your best shot is to register early, you won’t be very disadvantaged if you turn up late.
- LIFT THINGS! It’s World’s Strongest Man on Five at 8pm, for some reason!
- QUIZBOXING! It’s the second of Stefan Raab’s TV Total Quizboxen events. We discussed the first one here, and you’ll probably be able to watch on a naughty stream. It is scheduled to begin at 9:55pm UK time and should be live.
There is a Mastermind app out, apparently:

Ta, will have a look and review when I’ve got a spare moment.
MMM, can’t you just smell the testosterone in the air? 😀
I’ll deffo be around for the Quizboxen. Enjoyed the first one, plus we have the champions defending their titles.
I just ate a steak laced with scotch bonnets. Honestly.
MAN THURSDAY!
Changing the subject. Can someone explain how they select the Italian region who plays each day on Affari Tuoi? We know over there they have to appear around 20 shows before they get selected but I have seen someone tonight who is playing on their fourth appearance but there are other folk who are still waiting, one for nearly four weeks.
it’s all random.
well, whatever passes for random at RAI!
Thanks Cele. Surely if it’s “suppose” to be random. There must be a point in the recording schedule where some people don’t get selected but have to leave for work/life commitments.
Back to my original message, I meant to say “over here” when I was referring to the UK version with contestants staying for around 20 shows before being selected.
Well done Ronald Stewart for winning the poker!
I’m glad they’ve sped up moving on to the next question if unanswered in the Quiz Boxing.
Still wish they’d change the quiz knockout rules though, as it is it’s too difficult and leads to rather anticlimactic final rounds. It should feel like a hard fought contest rather than ending after two seconds because someome got a question right.
I think there’s actually a good argument for either starting with the quiz, or tacking an extra boxing round at the end.
Ooh, a quiz KO! Well there we are.
Next one 5th February.
From 1988 it’s France v Italy at Des Chiffres (they don’t do Des Lettres).
