It’s Noel’s Price Is Right!

By | February 11, 2010

Sort of.

It’s times like this I wish I subscribed to Broadcast 🙁

Meanwhile the Deal or No Deal website apparently crashed after having 4.5m people visit in an attempt to apply to go on the show, which is interesting as it gets about 2.5m viewers these days. Who could have predicted that people would quite like basically free money during a recession? Almost 113,000 have managed to register – good luck with that.

And thanks to Alex for pointing this out – Tim Shaw’s Trapped In A Box Treasure Hunt (our title). I would be fascinated to find out a) what words of wisdom Trojan from Gladiators imparted regarding the experience of being trapped in a box for 30 days, b) if anyone will actually watch, or whether people will just find it funnier to leave him in there and c) if he’s geting 12 hours of daylight, will it be mysteriously very very dark on the webcam to the point where he’s probably not actually going to be there for the remaining twelve?

Dates for The Whole 19 Yards now up, I’m going to try and go along to one of them.

It is Survivor this evening.

Note the Whole 19 Yards says “very famous hosts” to be announced soon. As it’s plural, any thoughts on who. Be surprised if it were Ant and Dec so soon after Push the Button, so another Phil Schofield vehicle perhaps, with Holly Willoughby?

Watched T4’s Shipwrecked replacement “Ultimate Traveller” last night. Basic premise is six Brits will back pack around Indonesia for eight “weeks” (though like Shipwrecked a week seems to be 5 days), and at the end of it must vote on who is the Ultimate Traveller to win £10k. Additionally each week they vote too with the weekly winner getting a 50% budget boost for the next week, whilst each week the travellers will complete a challenge which if they fail results in a 25% budget cut.

Gareth has to be a contender for worst reality show contestant ever – lands in Indoneisa, says he’s homesick, sleeps whilst others enjoy first night out, sleeps on four-hour train ride to next location, sleeps in taxi to new hotel and then eventually joins the others – only to tell them he’s leaving because he’s home sick. Pathetic!

Anyhow – not too bad a show for T4 – but frankly would be better without the game show element.

No I think Brekkie’s right here, this sounds as though it will be going out around the same time as Push the Button which is in the same sort of area.

Can’t see it being Phil and Holly either though. Too madcap, I think.

    Michael Underwood?

    Stephen Mulhern?

I’m not sure why the show needs two hosts anyway, the Spanish show seemed to do cope perfectly well with the one.

Stephen and Holly would be great – they work well together. Then again, Stephen is doing the new version of Talking Telephone Numbers.

Vernon Kay a possibility with his current missus Tess Daly if it’s two of them (don’t think she’s BBC exclusive) – although just the one would be fine. Or perhaps a non-X Factor vehicle for Dermot O’Leary, but don’t think they’d give him a co-host.

Well this is it, I don’t think Magic Numbers has actually been properly picked up yet, has it? I think ITV are trying to find a show for him, I think he could do this one fairly well.
