Ought to write something. I’m very busy in the run-up to Christmas, and there’s not much in the way of news, although I’ve got some exciting stuff coming up for you when I’ve got the time to do it.
- Thanks to Iain Weaver for his generous write up of The Line Up in his latest Week – the next one is happening soon and it will probably be the de facto Xmas/New Year episode, hopefully getting back to monthly for the end of January.
- There’s another game of 21 Questions Wrong on Fifty50 Show tomorrow starring Andrew Sullivan aka @Keshihead. This is good fun.
- We were alerted to a new Flemish quiz called Twee Tot De Zesde Macht (Two to the Sixth Power, although Two to the Power Six is probably a better translation for reasons that will become apparent). It is quite clever and good fun and will be getting the Weekend Special treatment when I’ve got a spare afternoon. The official page is here, but if you want to watch an episode I’m sure if you tried searching for it on Google something nautical and naughty might crop up. FUN FACT: Host Bart de Pauw is one of the creators of De Mol. What a guy. Thanks once again to our friend Vierkante O for alerting us to this, you can read his excellent blog here.
- This week’s Only Connect semi-final features the Footballers vs Draughtsmen. BBC4, Monday, 8:30.
- Five have started showing World’s Strongest Man on Thursday nights. Who knew?
- Don’t forget that this Thursday is Bother’s Bar’s GRR MAN THURSDAY (also featuing women) where we will be GAMBLING then watching BOXING with QUIZ ELEMENTS. Join us for the poker at 8pm – you need to be a member of Bother’s Poker Club to play (that bit is free but I have to approve you so don’t leave it until the last minute), all the details here. Then at 9:55pm it’s the next TV Total Quizboxen event we’ll probably be watching on a naughty stream.
- Pointless Celebrities got well over five million last night. That is a bit good.
I did find that two to the sixth actually..

Interesting little show….
The Power Six are meant to be the six celebs on rotation. Not only are they playing against the civilian teams, they’re battling each other as (I think) all the money they win is added to a charity pot played for at the end of the series, and their performance over the series determines teams for the final. From what I gather.
I think it’s a great show up until the semi-final, then I think it loses its way a little. Although doubtless you’ll get more from it if you understand Flemish.
I really like a certain subset of Belgian quizzes, they come across as cozy and fun but are actually rather clever and devious. This is another show I’d comsider putting on daytime afternoons, although not before De Slimste has a go.
That is correct and I totally agree with you.
Ratingswise it got 46% market share in 4+ for Een, which is above average.
big win for Bonolis!
La Sfida Dei 6 2,988,000 share 13,01%
L’Eredità 3,607,000 share 14,83%
Avanti Il Primo! 3,154,000 share 14,84%
Avanti Un Altro! 4,977,000 share 21,79%
and the weirdest contestant ever to play the 21QW game
Awesome, I’ll look it up when I get in. Thanks!
Trying not the give the game away. Tonight’s is a must watch on catch-up, for everything that has gone in throughout the show as well as a bizarre jackpot round.
good thing I saw the final minutes of tonight’s Affari Tuoi!!
