Finally, FINALLY someone has put everyone out of their misery by solving Word Up! I’m quite surprised it took as long as it did. Congratulations to @dermoth who wins £24!
Thanks to everyone who turned up to our very first Bother’s Bar LIVE EVENT, commentating on Schlag den Raab. It was great fun, and actually quite an early finish. We hope to do it again for the next episode on December 15th where there will be €3.5m on the line, so look out for that.
Also look out for a recording review of The Common Denominator which begins recording this week at the BBC. Tickets are still available, it sounds as though it might be quite good fun.
Thanks to Iain Weaver for his nice write up of Fifty 50 and 21 Questions Wrong in his most recent Week. Unfortunately I can’t remember my YahooGroups log-in to reply, so I should point out that Endemol have sold Avanti un Altro to Spain and (of course) Albania at least. They could be pushing it harder, of course.
Last AND MOST DEFINITELY not least, Bother’s Bar’s next poker event will be happening on the 29th November and you’re more than welcome to come and join us. However, what with me and my sense of prediction, that’s also the evening of the next TV Total QuizBoxen event. The good news is is that tends to start quite late, so the poker will possibly be finishing by the time it starts anyway. Denk!
In case people haven’t heard, it has been reported that Miss Victoria Coren married Mr. David Mitchell yesterday. The department of I-thought-they-were-obvious-but-I-haven’t-heard-anyone-tell-’em jokes wonders whether or not he has yet been wangernumbed.
Sunday’s ratings
Avanti Il Primo! 3,060,000 share 14.91%
Avanti Un Altro! 4,458,000 share 19.23%
Pole Position 4,618,000 share 18.43%
technically AuA! wins in terms of share, but against a preview of the Texas F1 Gran Prix. Probably Marco Salvati will still gloat over this
Thank you there, sir, especially for your in-depth knowledge of the Albanian television schedule. Mr. Bother may wish to hold fire until next Sunday, when the Week explores the world of The Line Up.
RTL announced last July that they would be launching a new gameshow in Winter 2013, and today it’s been confirmed when it will start.
‘Alle auf den Kleinen’ (All the Little) is in essence Schlag den Raab. The difference is that the host (Oliver Pocher) will face three contestants instead of one. The contestants will alternate for the games whilst Pocher will play every game. They could win €100,000 if they beat him. Since the show information was released last year, the German press have instantly compared it to SdR, which is no surprise. Premieres at 8.15pm (7.15pm UK time) on Friday 4th January, 2013. It’s currently only being scheduled as a one-off.
Ah, he did German Gameshow Marathon, I wondered where I heard the name before.
Interesting, thanks!
