Not much happening that I know of, and not much until 1001 Things You Should Know on Monday. What are we missing?
Word Up! is still going. I get the feeling it might be over in the next few days, so if you haven’t had a guess yet then get in before then. The pot is now £57.
In other news, we’re hoping to “do” some sort of live Schlag den Raab English alternative commentary thing for SdR next Saturday. The problem is we don’t have a clue how to go about it. Does anyone have any advice? Google Hangout? Other? This will be an audio only thing to listen to whilst you watch your dodgy streaming.
what’s the Albanian for “another”?
Tjetri!

always wished to put together the Spanish theme with the Italian set 🙂
the host appears to be named Edi Manushi
A quick look on ustream.tv’s website suggests you can do an audio only stream, which might be an easy way of doing a live commentary? I believe you can embed a ustream player onto other webpages so you’d be able to stick it on here.
Sounds like a great idea, only issue I could see would be the commentary being out of sync with the programme. A possible solution would be to somehow stream the programme as well and put the commentary over the top, but I can see that being a legal minefield that’s not really worth getting involved in.
The problem is you have to pay for the bandwidth you use on ustream.
Do you? I just ran through the whole process quickly just to see and I had no problems setting up a stream at no cost to me. I’m not particularly clued up with streaming sites though, so I may have overlooked something.
I think streaming is free, but to store recordings on their servers will cost you. One thing I have read is that they can cut away and play commercials on your stream, which would be far from ideal.
I can live with being out of sync. The hilarious thing is going to be trying to listen to each other and trying to listen to what’s going on, as it’s the occasional German word you pick up that’s the key to explaining many of the games.
Will explore, ta.
Thinking about it, for a group discussion type thing something like a Google+ Hangout might be a good option.
I’m guessing this is how Tom Scott did his live broadcasts on YouTube:

Yes – I believe it is. I have a Google+ account so it might be something to consider, especially if I can embed the feed on here.
I think I’ve got a live feed going. The only thing is that it’s showing my webcam. What pictures should we put online instead? A scoreboard graphic? A rolling Twitter feed?
I don’t have a webcam. I wonder what shows up if I go on it? I’ll have to explore later.
Sez up the page a bit, that SdR is on a Sunday?
Are Pro7 attempting to get a spike on the figures, by moving it away from the Saturday night bloodbath of big hitters lined up by RTL and ZDF against it – or is it a good ol fashioned typo and it will be on a Saturday?
Oops, my mistake, should be Saturday. Changed.
Just to add on the streaming discussion – you could use twitch.tv and use something like xsplit to do some basic visuals so your not looking at a black screen
