Phase with us now for this is the time of adventure

Unbelieveably, Knightmare is 25 years old on Friday. And if that isn’t enough to make you feel old nothing will.

We’ll write more about this over the next few days. In the meantime do not forget that we interviewed Tim Child for the show’s 20th anniversary, and what a cracking interview it was as well. And if you want a very detailed history of the show, Knightmare.com has been around forever and it brilliant.

Not related to Knightmare, but rather exciting anyways, I think. I’ve just got back from London after doing an episode of Breakaway!!! I’m not going to spoil how I did, as I’d rather you saw for yourselves, but the new rule changes actually make the game more tense and exciting. There’s another rule that I didn’t mention when I got back from auditioning and that is that you can’t steal lives any more. Get the bonus question right and you get a life, no ifs, ands or buts, and there’s only 4 of them instead of 5.

You’ll know it’s the episode I’m on when you see the names Kerry, Simon, Jeff, Jo, Rachel and me

Someone else pointed out on Facebook that the Atari 2600 game Pitfall is 30 years old today. This means that it took precisely five years and one day to get from this, albeit on a very basic home console, to the above, albeit on a TV budget.

Man, the early- and mid- ’80s were amazing.

Knightmare Claim to Fame: I was at university with the niece of David Learner, who played Pickle the Elf.
