As you’ve probably noticed, whilst the Olympics is on not much else is, so expect the Bar to be rather quieter than usual.
If you’ve come across something worthwhile (although bear in mind what you and I think is worthwhile may be different) then say something and we’ll explore it.
In the meantime, the next Bothers Bar poker event will be Tuesday 14th August so keep that free in your diaries. Details to come. Details here – The Olympbrig boxing!
Schalg den Star returns this Saturday at 7.15pm. The jackpot stands at a record breaking €150,000. The star taking part will be TV presenter Daniel Aminati.
Nothing wildly original, but a nevertheless rather charming Knightmare retrospective that’s reasonably recent.
El Cubo moves to late-night on the next two Mondays with 105-minute shows and a new money tree:
€1k, €3k, €5k, €10k, €20k, €50k, €250k
The story suggests, however, that the weeknight version of El Cubo has been cancelled or put on hiatus.

In fact, thanks to the spoilerific video that Cuatro posted today at their website, we already know that a rare event will take place on tonight’s episode.

“It has also been adapted with great success in countries like USA, Germany, Portugal and Saudi Arabia.”
…erm…really?
Sounds like they use the Wikipedia page as a reference … but didn’t read it very well. (Incidentally, when is someone finally going to remove “Aquatica” et al. from the list of games on that page?)
Not only have they not deleted it, more have been added.
Look at Aquamaze for £20k.

Interestingly, I didn’t hear (given my only-passable Spanish) any mention on the air of this being a “special” or any acknowledgement that the money tree had changed. I started wondering (without any confirmation) whether these might have been pilot episodes that are being burned off in late night. But the graphics are those of the later episodes, which would seem to disprove that theory (unless, of course, they were redone).
