Board update

By | February 8, 2010

Well it’s been almost six weeks, I figure it was about time for some Fort Boyard at the bar, so I’ve updated the Specials Board with the articles I’ve written about the Fort with a 2010 EXCLUSIVE!!!! update of the retrospective. I bet I’ve missed something somewhere, and I’m pretty sure someone will mention what. Whatever happened to Operation Fort Boyard, then?

In other news, you can now register for The BotherSOP Game 2 and this time round I’ve even provided the Tournament ID number you can search to find it a bit easier (through Requests up the top). PROVE YOUR DOMINION OVER THE SOULS OF OTHER FELLOW MAN THROUGH PLAYING CARDS. That is why we play poker. Also: money and trophies.

In other news, Howard Stern for American Idol? Now I’d love to see that!

Also Dave Gorman’s Genius is coming back for a second series.

About 90 minutes. The blinds at Full Tilt are pretty shallow, although they start to ramp up around the two-hour mark, alongside antes.

90 minutes? Hmm… I may be able to play after all, though it’s a bit tight. On Sundays I usually start work at 5pm (EST), and I try to leave at quarter til.

But it might just work. Hmm. I’ll think about it. I really want to play!

Name a familiar game show whose name incorporates six consecutive consonants. Using this Wikipedia page is cheating, though it overtly wasn’t cheating for me to use it in order to set the question.

I wilil doff my cap to anyone who can suggest a game show whose name incorporates seven or more consecutive consonants. (I’ll doff it somewhat less far if there’s a solution of the style of, say, Zzzzzzzzzzap.)

I assume the six-consonant show is the one whose mascot still adorns the UKGS Yahoo Group page?

I’m mildly surprised that I can’t find any gameshow that’s used the term “rhythm” in the title, since that was my first area to look at.

I suppose Jools Holland’s Rhythm And Blues Orchestra Quiz would have nine in a row, split over two words – and it probably doesn’t behoove me to quibble too hard over the number of words that are required for the six consonants. (I had Jenny’s answer in mind, but yours is clever, unexpected and earns at least a doffette.)
