Sing in the tail

By | April 21, 2012

It’s the The Voice battle rounds this weekend! Oh and Chris O Dowd and Dawn Porter are on the The Million Pound Drop finale this evening.

Right that’s the latest news covered, I’ve been a bit content light recently so I’m going to to do a small feature tomorrow. It was going to be tonight, but I’ve been working and I am knackered.

Don’t forget also tomorrow it is the 5 Card Draw round of Mix It Up Real Good at 8pm. Free to enter and open to all. Don’t miss it!

I missed Omaha Hi, but I don’t think it’ll set me back further than I am already, I’d probably have just got 1 point from it anyways! 😀 I’ve registered for tomorrow, so I’ll see how 5-Card Draw goes.

PokerStars are trying out a new type of game called Zoom. It plays like standard Texas Hold-em but if you fold, you get instantly put onto a new table with new opponents and get dealt a new hand.

Minor incident on MPD tonight when a member of the audience fainted. It was less exciting than that sentence makes it sound.

Re: The Voice: Ben Kelly’s exit
Did anyone think there was something strange about Ben Kelly vs Ruth-Ann St Luceon the Sunday night battle show? The song was markedly shorter than all the others – and to my ears sounded like it had been edited down. Then there was practically no discussion amongst the mentors before Jessie abruptly chose Ruth-Ann.

Just wondering really. Maybe someone was there to see what happened?

The Daily Mail (boo, hiss) would have it that The Voice was hastily edited down from 100 minutes to 93 in order to avoid a clash with Britain’s Got Talent. Watching the episode it looked like it had been butchered in the edit so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d actually got that bit of the story right.

Many websites were saying the same thing but 100 minutes without adverts for a non live show does seem excessive. 90 minutes is just right.

The site has got some really talented people behind it, and if John Teti and Ellie Gibson are involved then I’m in. I know John who wrote that piece has visited the Bar on occasion (hello if you’re reading!).
