A lot of people commenting on the end of Ceefax today (even though it isn’t, there’s still some analogue ‘oop North’, as people putting on a Northern accent are wont to say). Can’t say I’m that bothered, I was always an ITV/C4 Teletext sort of guy in the same way I’ve always been a commercial telly sort of person. And if those were the pages you missed, we reviewed the Bamboozle app a while ago.
In other news, can anyone remember which year harmless popular sitcom My Family played Howie Mandel’s White Elephant on one of their Christmas Specials? I would probably put a clip up if I can find it.
Surely this is just a rip-off of Takeover Bid?
Let’s hope Howie Mandel raps over the title sequence.
Is there a missing ‘c’ there?
“Let’s hope Howie Mandel raps Cover the title sequence.”?
Chowie Mandel. Om nom nom.
It’s been some time now since Wogan’s Perfect Recall quietly fell off the air, so here are three things I’m wondering as regards the final round:
(1) The most I saw anyone bid was 18 – did anyone actually dare to bid 20?
(2) I know of three contestants who answered all 20 questions correctly – respectively winning £3k for having bid 15, £5k for 16, and £10k for 17. Were there any more?
(3) I know of one other contestant who won £10k for meeting a bid of 17. Again, were there any more, and were there any £25k or even £50k winners? Obviously, no-one won the £100k…
I think someone bid 20 and made 19.
I may (read, most likely will) be wrong though. I usually am.
Yes… usually. 😉
Anyone? Travis?
I don’t remember anybody bidding 20. That said, I didn’t see every show. I know about 2-3 people did get all 20 but they bid in the mid-teens.
Sad news tonight. Dick Clark, host of Winning Lines US and The Challengers amongst other things, has died aged 82.
