Mart with a Y not an I
Not quite the ‘full’ episode. The contestant intro life story/chat with Brucie has been subject to the editing software of doom.
But very welcome none the less, as I’ve been wanting to see this for ages, as like most people who watched it originally, only remembered the nightmareish Sir B sung theme song and nothing of the actual format/gameplay.
I had forgotten how little gameplay there was – just six questions! – in the main body of the show. Nice to see the “random shots of the studio” opening sequence approach twenty or so years before we criticised Breakaway for doing the same.
I’m not convinced the world is in need of Brucey doing hip hop (You Bet rap notwithstanding) but I think it’s basically harmless enough once it gets going.
Come to think of it, who do you think is happier with their lot in life – Tarrant or little Noely? Tarrant may have essentially been a scrapper televisually but has made a big, big hit of his day job in radio, leaving on his own terms, whereas Edmonds has had things more his own way on TV but may well have not enjoyed his business career(s) off-TV. I think on balance Tarrant may be more satisfied.

Yes, sorry, someone linked to it during my work lunch hour and thought I’d draw attention to it blind as I can’t get sound.
That theme’s got to be one of the worst examples of game show music ever, no? Even Blankety Blank was more charming than that.
Well, I quite liked it… (“Yes – you would!“)

All Clued Up wins (or should that be loses?) on that front still.
I dunno. I thought it was catchy.

Good old Chris Tarrant! Well… old Chris Tarrant, at least.
