You can’t have Wayne Brady because he’s a) my choice and b) tied to CBS. This will be on Fox. And I will have decent money on it being… more dramatic than any other version of the show. Anyway, Buzzerblog broke the story.

I was going to pick him. I suppose they could make it different and get Brooke Burns rather than choose a male presenter.
but yes, I suspect it will have the Mark Thompson over dramatic introductions.
I suspect this is part of why people are worried about Fox taking it. Is it really that hard to simply import the format directly without adding unnecessary bullshit like “COMING UP NEXT” and what not? Or does Mark Thompson have a clause in his contract granting him permission to voice-over on whatever the hell he pleases?
As for host, I like the ideas I’ve heard so far (Charlie Sheen, Wayne Brady, or just bring Paddy McGuinness in from the UK show), and I wish I could think of a good pick myself.
I think the show would only work for me if Paddy hosted it, but since I doubt Fox would go for a British host who isn’t Vernon Kay or Cat Deely, I’d probably want one of those two hosting.
Sorry for the off topic (and sorry again if this was mentioned before) but just wanted to give a couple of spanish game show notes.
– We have now our version of “Hot Seat” airing as “El Millonario” (The Millionaire). Funny title as the top price is just 100.000 € (Lowest top prize ever in spanish WWTBAM history, btw). You can see some episodes here:
http://www.lasexta.com/lasextaon/elmillonario
(Not sure if this will work outside of Spain)
– Meanwhile on Telecinco, “Pasapalabra” will give away very soon a massive over 1.500.000 € jackpot. We know the show has already been recorded but still don’t know when it will air.
I read it’s sometime next week (the 27th, 28th or 29th to be more specific)…
Ooh, glad to see someone finally decided to decide the first player with a qualifying question. Seems like it’d be the obvious choice.
Here’s a clip of Japan’s version of Take Me Out.
Amazing find Brian, thanks!
They’ve spent a good 50p on that set.
