Round up 27th Jan ’10

By | January 26, 2010

I’ve not really got anything to add, I’ve been out for the evening, I won some money at cards, I’m going to get something to eat and then I’m going to watch The Krypton Factor, Charlie Brooker on BBC4 and possibly episode four of Band of Brothers on DVD.

Don’t worry, I’m not going all “lifestyle” on you all, I thought it was time for a new post and there’s not much to say. What’s on your mind?

Broadcast on Twitter suggesting that Steve Jones is about to host a new physical Saturday night gameshow from Argentina. 101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow? We can’t see behind the paywall.

Meanwhile, Jenny Turner has spotted this link to a new kids show called Mission 2110, which appears to be the new name for Roboidz they were advertising for contestants for a while ago. This could be really brilliant, although if The Mirror is to be believed Caleb’s undertaken a sex change because actress Lindsay Duncan is apparently fronting it now. Edit: Actually I might have got the wrong idea about that. It’s truly classic Bother’s Bar.

New Super Mario Bros Wii is awfully frustrating in multiplayer. But fun! Also, that advert for Diplomas or something makes me want to watch Gamesmaster again.

I love NSMB Wii and keep forgetting to take it round various chums houses to play multiplayer. I literally can’t imagine it – the end worlds are fairly steep enough without having to share platforms with other people!

I’m getting curious now – What is Only Connect’s question submission policy?

I was there for the first 3 Love Week shows. You should have seen what the poor warm-up guy was forced to wear.

I missed seeing love week by one day. Had I not headed off to Weymouth that evening…

The Sun has a story on “101 Ways To Leave A Gameshow” today. Basically yes, Steve Jones hosts, it’s filmed in Argentina, the prize is ten grand, and the studio moves up and down inside a tower. That’s about it, really.

And sounds like there’s about 4 ways to leave the gameshow, not 101. And if Total Wipeout is anything to go by, the BBC will only use two of them!

I don’t think Caleb and this Lindsay Duncan character are the same person. I get the impression Caleb’s the hero and Lindsay Duncan is the villain.

actually, I see that digitalspy are just, as usual, regurgitating from an official press release. Here’s the full BBC press release on Mission:2110

to clear up the Lyndsay Duncan thing

Lindsay Duncan (Doctor Who, Rome) will voice Neuros and Cybele, the good and evil alter egos of the Roboidz creator Laura Gant. The series also stars CBBC’s newest recruit Stuart Goldsmith, who plays the show’s hero Caleb.
