Blimey, this is a bit out of left field. Gavin Henson off of rugby and Charlotte Church is set to become The Bachelor for the UK.
Not the first time the show has been done, BBC3 had their own version. This looks set for Channel Five. In it, a number of women vie for the love of The Bachelor through an elimination competition. By the sounds of it the Welsh rugby team seem to be trying to ignore it.
The show has run for 15 seasons in the US (fifteen!) as well as 7 seasons of The Bachelorette. Unfortunately the only time anyone uses the word ‘batchelor’ in the UK is in relation to Super Noodles, which is likely to count against it.
Given the channel and it’s new ownership, I think you’ve unwittingly announced the show’s main sponsor.
“Batchelor’s The Bachelor”
Gavin Henson is required to be seen eating some Super Noodles in every episode.
Yeah, I think that could work.
Or maybe that BECOMES the show.
Incidentally, tickets for Holding Out For a Hero now available.
I’m a little surprised that the BBC News site doesn’t mention the prior BBC version of The Bachelor. Three series!
