- The French Pointless pilot films today. Let’s hope they call it Nul Points. If you go to this, do let us know what it’s like.
- Speaking of the French, it’s being suggested that the US want to film kids episodes of Fort Boyard on Fort Boyard in July. Interesting – there was meant to be a domestic junior version of the show being done the year before last but it didn’t happen (presumably because of the ratings collapse).
I could have sworn that one of the artists on today’s Show Me the Monet was the guy who used to be in the Ronseal ads:
My pitch, for the format which I have helped develop, on Tuesday went well. We’re having another meeting in 2 weeks time to discuss developing it further. The title of the show is currently: ‘Ultimate Champion’. This is based on the fact that the celebrities will have to take part in many different challenges and the winner will truly be a jack of all trades, the ‘ultimate champion’ so to speak. I’ll give you further updates when after my next meeting.
Why do I get the feeling it’s already been comissioned and you’re stringing us along?
How cynical are you, Brig? Does mercury run through your veins?
No, POISON.
Actually whilst you’re here Joe, do you know what if anything has happened to Jonathan Ross backed The Golden Cage?
Jonathan Ross’ production company, Hotsauce TV, has a few things in development with Endemol. However it’s not to do with The Golden Cage. Newspapers made the Golden Cage story up when they heard about Hotsauce TV signing a development deal with Endemol (that bit is true). It made a good story, especially at a time right after Big Brother was axed, but there’s no truth in it.
Interesting, I thought the idea that it was for the BBC sounded a bit off, thanks Joe.
What channel and time slot do you/production company development team see this happening on?
Richard Osman practically liveblogging the French version of Pointless on Twitter was pretty fun. They have a female Richard…!
