In honesty I have no idea at all, I’ve not listened to the songs or anything. (The Eurovision 2011 album is downloadable from Amazon for £9.49 and £10.99 on iTunes, and I may download it now.)
So the question is, Eurofans, what song should I be putting my money on?
I’m convinced everyone in the UK is underselling Blue’s chances.
AND TO PROVE IT, I’ve just placed a tenner on Blue to finish Top 4.
I think thats a good bet! This year is very weak imo and there has been great reaction from the Eurofans to it.
I’d like to say France’s “Sognu” or Albania’s “Feel the Passion”, but I don’t think either of them have a chance, sadly.
Shockingly, it seems that everyone in Ireland is convinced that Jedward will win… 😯
I do believe you should put your money in your pocket! And after picking Germany last year in the “eat one dry cracker per 5 points” forfeit challenge, I should know.
i cant call it,
nothing has leapt out this year (which always makes for a better show in my opinion). and this is from the person who has called it twice in a row (along with half of europe to be honest!)
France is apparently favourite to win. Which would be interesting if they did.
As much as I love France’s entry (it’s my personal favorite), I honestly can’t see them winning. It just doesn’t seem like something the general public, who took Jedward far and made “Baby” a hit song, would go for.
I’ve put £40 on Blue to win. They’ll definitely win. It’s an excellent song which has been well received in Europe and Blue have a big fanbase out there.
Also I think Europeans will have a more positive view towards Britain this year because they can see that we’re trying more by putting a well established act in, and also the Royal Wedding has shone Britain in a very positive light.
£40 on Blue = guaranteed £280 🙂
And I’m bookmarking this in case they don’t.
I think France and Spain are very good this year too. But Blue is probably the best act the UK has sent since Jessica Garlic. I have read polls on esctoday, the French eurovision fansite, melodethien forums, all of which have Blue’s song scoring very highly.
I’m astounded to learn we’re second favourite. Personally I think the anti-UK bias will be too strong on the night, but I’m glad we’re using an established act for once. Most of the other countries seem to use their big stars – why we’ve used it as a “testing ground” for new talent, I’ve no idea.
Wither Andy Abraham?
My gut feeling is that the BBC entry will do well, but not *that* well. Comfortably in the top half of the table, which is far above average lately. Treat this with a pinch of salt, as I’m waiting for the contest to hear the songs.
According to his Tw*tter, Andy Abraham is today playing at a wedding in Norfolk.
Also I’m not sure that’s quite fair – last year’s winner was found on a Stefan Raab talent show, wasn’t she?
Oh man, I can’t believe you’re gambling now, Joe! 🙂
Estonia will win.
(Disclaimer: Estonia may not actually win.)
it appears (via twitter) that scott mills (as I kinda guessed from the blue documentary) and sara cox have got the eurovision semi final gig. almost certainly partly in fact that sarah cahwood trended last year for being so shit!
Whilst I’m happy for the pair of them, I think it’s a shame Paddy O’COnnell has been dropped.
couldnt agree more with you.
the best year was when paddy was graced with caroline flack’s presence as opposed to miss cahwood.
