Here’s a show I enjoyed a lot more than it probably deserved whilst growing up – Bob’s Your Uncle, where newlyweds compete in various games in order to win £3,000 and a car under the auspices of Sir Lord Bob Monkhouse.
Here is an edited version of the Sea of Matrimony round. to open the show each couple were asked a survey question. Get it right and they were awarded either some saucepans or a handpump to help bail the boat they’d be sitting in round two with. Get it wrong and they were lumbered with luggage or (if I recall correctly), a large wooden cat to weigh the boat down with. In the Sea of Matrimony the couples sat in boats with holes in and were asked questions, get it wrong and a family member would join them in the boat. The first couple to capsize is eliminated from the competition. The show ran on Saturday nights for two series.
Thanks to wet wedding clothes fetishists, there are quite a few more videos of the Sea of Matrimony on Youtube which is nice, although it’s a shame we couldn’t find any other round examples.
Meanwhile, Lord Sir Alan Sugar has revealed that the new series of The Apprentice starts Tuesday May 10th at 9pm, the second episode Wednesday May 11th and then on Wednesdays following that.
LOL we had that show in Italy too and it was a lot of fun.
