The strange thing about April Fools jokes is that they automatically become less funny for the fact that they’re on 1 April. (e.g. Rob Brydon doing Ken Bruce’s show right now. Should be quite amusing, but strangely… isn’t.)
The Million “Euro” Drop officially picked up in France, by TF1. It will be hosted by Laurence Boccolini, who also hosted our version of the Weakest Link.
Let’s just hope they’ll stick with the UK variant.
They use their own studio. I think it’s the same studio they used to film 1 Vs 100 at Docklands in Melbourne, since all Channel Nine programming is now filmed there. You can tell between the Aussie and US version that the Aussie studio audience is must smaller to the US.
Does that mean that this is the joke? There being no joke? A meta-fools joke?
No, there is no April Fool’s joke this year.
Or IS there?
No.

Though still better than the real Ken Bruce, natch.
Does this mean that Bother’s Bar’s 6th birthday is coming soon?
Or was that in February?
Rather ridiculously, it’s Bother’s Bar’s SEVENTH birthday on April 19th. I forgot it last year.
Actually, I’m pondering a special anniversary game of Take The Money Or Don’t Take The Money.
Oh yeah, seven. I all of a sudden forgot what 11-4 equalled.
CAN YOU CONTAIN THE EXCITEMENT? Oh, you can. Well, anyway, the grand final of Accumulate is here! http://ruon.tv/ondemand/video.php?vidid=243
Amongst other things see: Board games, wires on the floor, bad puns, a close contest and a man with a duck on his head.
All this, and more, await you. Thankyou for the support you’ve shown! We couldn’t do it without the encouragement.
Hurrah! And, yes, a pleasantly surprisingly classy prize; no end-of-the-line clearance stock there. Thanks, Eclectic Games! Thanks, Dan!
The games were worth over £150 in total, so actually a huge prize! Thanks to eclectic games, http://www.eclecticgames.co.uk .

Cheers Dan, I was glad you explained Civilisation because I was wracking my brains trying to work out the kitchen connection. D’oh!

Very interesting, they originally filmed a pilot on the UK set last Summer. Thanks, Lilian.
The Spanish version kept the UK set (approx 1:43 scale) – so our French version should have it also.

Also, it will air five times a week (until it crashes for bad ratings… and that should not take too much time, sorry Endemol Joe)
Awww, I think the Spanish version of the set is quite sweet, really.
Talking of Drop, I assume the Aussies have their own set or have they filmed it on the US set?
