The Bother Series of Poker 2010

By | January 14, 2010

I know there are people interested in doing this again, I’m just doing a final bit of research and hopefully the details will be up by the end of the month, with a view to starting in February. $10 + $1 likely to be the usual buy-in this time around.

It’s likely to be fortnightly over six months. You won’t need to play in every event to win. It’s also going to be on one of the big sites, so fingers crossed we won’t get messed around like last year.

Good stuff Brig! Sounds great. I hope there’ll be some double and triple events once every couple of months to keep the points up!

As it got rather buried in the comments, Accumulate! 2×05 was uploaded yesterday on our NEW WEBSITE (it’s all the fashion, apparently) at http://www.ruon.tv . Enjoy the first semi final…

There will almost certainly be a few bonus events, it’s likely that there will be twelve, only the best eight results will count, but only one or two bonus events will count. Something like that.

I will watch Accumulate when I get home! Thanks Dan.

It is also likely that there will be an actual trophy for the winner, and some sort of bracelet things for the top three. It depends on how far I’m willing to stretch the Bother’s Bar Prize Budget really.

It’s done! There will be a trophy for winning The BSOP, and engraved bronze, silver and gold medals for first second and third. There will probably be added prizemoney as well, although if you finish top three you’ve probably done alright out of it anyway.

I can’t promise it will be as flush next year, but this year is going to be BLOODY BRILLIANT.

So where are we playing? Also I love the idea of only using the best 8 results from 12 events, helps out those of us who can’t make every event.

I’m just waiting for confirmation on a few things then I’ll get the details out, but it’s looking increasingly likely to be Full Tilt.

If you’re not on Full Tilt and interested, mail me your e-mail address and I’ll set-up lovely refer-a-friend bonuses for us both.

But as I said, just waiting for a few questions to be answered first so hold off getting overexcited just yet.

I missed last year’s BSoP and was rather put out – hopefully it works out so that I’ll be able to participate this time. The problem is I work evenings, so it’s a matter of having the right days off.. have you decided what day(s) of the week you’re likely to hold the events?

It’s likely to be either midweek or Sunday. I’m happy to take requests, but ultimately it’s unlikely I’m going to be able to please everyone I’m afraid.

I like Sundays because usually there’s nothing on and it’s something to get excited about before the people usually go back to work.

I might go in for it, depending on how it works out time/date wise. And if the software runs in linux (via Wine or otherwise) and if I can be arsed rebooting up into Windows to loose $11.

I will be in to protect my crown 😀 i am not on fulltilt so happy for you to refer me Brig….

On the subject has anybody played on those interactive poker tables that are sprining up in pubs? I am a member of one and have a huge score saved on my membership card, does anybody know what i can do with it?

Don’t forget, there’s a TROPHY this year. And MEDALS.

When I know it’s definiteloy going ahead, I’ll put a form up for people who want referral bonuses – it’s worth up to $100 for you, I think.
