Tonight I’m out, but tonight is also the night for Schlag den Star and The Million Pound Embarrassing Climbdown. So if you’d like to chat about them, why not do so here?

Schlag den Star linky.

Thanks Travis.
It appears that our ultra reliable friend Mr XStream, appears to be either a) asleep or b) nailed by the Justintv police.
I mananged to find a link, but the picture was very washed out and glitchy. This is much better.
Who’s going to provide a commentary in words only?
First game is to all those Beat The Star fans – is Hang Tight.
Hang from a frame, first to hit the floor – looses.
(our contender tonight is Michael – Star, Joey)
OK – link went down, so back to the scratchy back-up.
Didn’t catch who won game one – but game two is Blow-Darts. Tube in mouth, line up against a circular board, and er..blow a dart out of the tube to the board.
6 goes each – highest cumulative score determines the winner….
..which was – Michael (he won Hang Time in speil 1)
So Michael 3-0 Joey
Game 3 – Floorball. Basically indoor hockey. Most goals over 5 mins of play declares the winner..
However – hold fast. With 2.08 left Michael was floored by a unintentional shoulder charge by Joey, which sent Michael sprawling side on into the metal tubing surrounding the goal net required the medic to have a prod and a nose whilst he was lying on the studio floor. He was offered the chance to quit (loosing 4-3 at the time) but opted to carry on, so clock restarts – and then throws in the towel after going 4-6 down.
..Joey ‘wins’ Game 3
score Michael 3 – 3 Joey
Game 4 – Where in the world?
Map of the world, and stick an electronic pin in where you think the answer is. Michael elected to play the joker for this round, so Stefan stepped upto the place – and won
score after 4
Michael 7 – 3 Joey
(Technical note – the stream has lost all sound – and the link that Travis posted earlier is now offline.
http://www.justin.tv/vel_tins_1#/w/546747232/4 is what I’m watching it on, stable picture, sans sound – but to be honest, this is now getting increasing tricky week by week trying to find a reliable stream)
Sounds back – after it when offline (to reconnect the stream), and cause a minor panic..
Game 5 – Der Zaun.
Standing one side of a metal square gauze fence, they have to through the gaps in the fence, move various objects (hoola hoops, footballs ect) from the tray at the bottom, upto and over the top of the fence to their side. First to get the all objects up and over wins..
which was…Joey.
Score Michael 7-8
Game 6 appears to be badminton (assuming we’re on game six, I just got here).
(sorry distracted by trying to find the euromillions numbers from a European lottery website, which normally posts them a good 3 hours before the BBC tinpot side show)
Full score vidiprinter should read..
Michael 7-8 Joey
Game 6 is Badminton
And the injury earlier has affected Michael not as quick around the court as he could be. He lost by 9-15
So Joey wins Game 6
Score Michael 7 – 14 Joey
Joey wins 15-9, making the scores 7-14.
Evening Art. Nice to have a bit of company!
Glad to make it in time for a part of it. I’ll be stepping out for Tom Scott’s show… what time is that EST again? I always get confused with daylight savings switchovers.
Game 7 is a sort of solo soccer game, with three colored pucks that must be kicked down a small field, with each puck passing between the other two on the each kick. Landing the last puck inside the “goal” area at the end gets a point. There’s a time limit of one minute per run, and I think it’s first to five.
Its tommorow at 9:30 GMT dunno the conversion
4:30pm Eastern time.
Game 7 – English Football
3 pucks are kicked one at time on a board with the markings of a football pitch and light/dark green sectors. The idea is to kick them, so each alternate puck goes one sector of the pitch furter than the other one and scores a goal in under 1 minute per turn. If they kick it out, or run out of time they loose.
Anyway, Michael wins 4-0
Score Michael 14-14 Joey
Oh, Saturday. Brilliant.
Michael wins 4-0. The score is now 14-14, making it interesting in that game eight doesn’t even matter, it’ll all come down to who wins game nine.
But for now! Game 8 appears to involve a box.
And it’s Simon! (The game, not the person.)
Game 8 Tone Merken
It’s a watch the colours flash on the touch screen, memorise the sequence and repeat it, game. Taking it in turns to have goes with the sequence getting longer each go.
Joey messed it up. Michael wins Game 8
Score – Michael 22-14 Joey
Well that was fun. On only the sixth turn, Joey blows it, giving Michael the somewhat worthless points. 22-14, and it’s not Matchball for both players.
Oh god, game 9 is the flick-the-coin-into-the-glass game.
Game 9 Die Munze
Flip the coin from the edge of the table into the glass
(rather apt using money for the 50,000 euros decider game!)
And Joey sinks one, but he had the first go, so it’s now Michael’s turn…
It’s a miss. Joey wins!
Michael missed 1st attempt. Joey nailed it..
Michael needs to get this for 50,000euro – no pressure, then.
Nope.
Joey wins game 9
Final Score Michael 22 – 23 Joey
Next week, a 100,000 rollover jackpot – and as it’s the last of the series – I wonder if Phillip Schofield will turn up?
Despite the teccie problems in the last pair of hours – it’s been a good show. Night all.
So another famous pair will try to beat the Million Pound Drop tomorrow night…
And Susan Boyle was born well after 1933.
Well I can’t find a stream but I am playing along here in Canuckistan for Money Falls Down The Chute.
Are the Dr. Who couple coming back today?
Giraffes are much bigger than humans… is that not a clue?
And back to one drop at a time for this one… is this an early mistake repeated?
And I blew it! Such is life.
The first answer took its time coming up there…
Davina: “I’m sorry to depress everybody…”
Here’s another possible clue – Britney is the youngest of the three…
This politics question is a bit of a stinker – I only know that Carla Bruni is Mme Sarkozy numero trois…
…But Sarkozy is right – and here’s another time-related final question…
…And they should have followed through with that last-minute move!!! π π π π
So back come Johnny and Dee – whom Davina says are originally from Southern Ireland…
Why not the Republic of Ireland?
I had to send a packet to Dublin recently and the lady in the post office asked if that was in “Southern Ireland”. However, Davina should be better briefed. Though she might mean they were from the southern part OF the republic, because obviously it does have a south. Lots of countries have a south.
Though she might mean they were from the southern part OF the republic, because obviously it does have a south.
In which case they could be from Cork, Waterford or Wexford, then.
That gambling question was definitely one of the quickest yet – if not THE quickest…
And VERY easy – a little TOO easy, if you ask me, given who’s playing..
California’s the third largest state, Montana the fourth largest…
Isn’t anyone else watching?
Another question 7 that surely very few would know the answer to – but, again, we’re heading to the final one…
Isnβt anyone else watching?
…Apologies to Tom and Jenny…
…And it’s going to be a winning return!!!
Prince Philip is 90 next year.
Make sure you apply for ITV’s new Endemol produced entertainment show. It’s a cracker π : http://www.itv.com/beontv/callingallcouples/default.html
Who is the celeb duo that are appearing tomorrow? By any chance it’s Armstrong & Miller?
Scratch that, they’re on tour.
Jimmy Carr and Johnny Vaughan, say the Endemol prods on Twitter. Slightly strand pairing.
Oh wow, it’s a celebrity panel take on the ‘What’s Your Beef, Now Gimme Your Gravy!’ section from Johnny Vegas’ 18 Stone of Idiot!
There better be an anti-social budgie in this too.
If it is not at least as good as Judge the Grudge on The Big Breakfast then I shan’t be interested.
Oh god didn’t that subgenre die years ago?
Sorry – but the write-up on itv.com, reads like the summary for the format to ‘The Marriage Ref’…
Last night’s rating.
Million Pound Drop Live: 2.30m (including +1)
Much better compared to last weekend but I suppose last weekend was also Bonfire Night/Weekend.
I am starting to wonder if the scheduling with Fri/Sat is an experiment to see how it would fare. I won’t be surprised if they do something similar next year in the Big Brother slot. Have the first week Mon-Fri then have 5/6 weekends on Fri/Sat.
Fort Boyard in Germany starts 11th Jan 2011 On kabel 1
So much for Davina last night saying the celebrity pair are a comedy duo and one of them is a TV presenter. Apparently it’s Jimmy Carr and Johnny Vaughan for tonight’s finale.
