Winningest

It’s time for some more weekend CONTENT!

I’ve gone and reviewed the Wheel of Fortune HD app currently in the iTunes Store for £2.99. The iPhone version – WoF Platinum, is also in the store and will cost you 59p.

Don’t forget! Fantasy X Factor begins tomorrow night! Exciting!

As in, being all topical with The X Factor being on.

Oh well done, you. I was going to make it a bit harder (Prime, Max, X, O’Reilly) but thought nobody’d play along 🙁

You could have done a special ½-point clue, were it required, of “Britain’s Got The Pop”, mostly for an excuse to say “And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice”.

Well, going by IITWI’s page on UKGS, this was at least the seventh time.

Tonight’s show was the seventh time nobody walked away with anything in 104 shows. Once in 2003, three times in 2005, once in 2007 (the show was shown head to head with the Rugby World Cup final) and now twice in 2010.

I happened to catch the start if In It To Win It last night and caught ‘the Wints’ introducion, which went something likes of (fires up Iplayer) “Guess what, I’ve got £100,000 to play for, and one – or all of them – will be going home with some cash”

At the time I thought “Bilge, Winton – not if any of them balls up the money question” And guess what – they all did.

So either, the introduction needs to be re-worded to give a slighty better representation of the gameplay..
..or it was a post recording pick-up done for a bit of sneaky viewer misdirection.

Back in July, I said that I honestly believed All Star Family Fortunes got sillier every year, and idly asked if the current series would continue this trend.

And, after four episodes, it looks like: yes, it has indeed continued this trend. *rolls eyes*

    And here’s how:

    (1) There appears to be more faffing about than ever before – and still virtually none of it is genuinely funny.

    (2) Vernon actually appears to be overelaborating the rules even more. IT’S NOT AS IF WE’RE ALL IDIOTS!!!

    (3) The spot prize clips appear to have become even more desperate.

    (4) And do the answers REALLY have to appear in a cloud of magic dust?? I know this helps keep the show fresh, but even so…

I know that many Family Feud followers aren’t too gone on the Richard Karn era, and it doesn’t help that GSN shows it over and over.

But I’m afraid to say, it was many times better than ASFF – simply because none of the above applied. (Indeed, the Feud doesn’t even have spot prizes.) And Richard’s “I’m doubling/tripling the points!” may have grated fairly quickly, but it’s still at least some bit more palatable than Vernon’s excessive use of “Our survey said!”.

These are just my opinions, and I know not everyone will agree with them – but I just felt I had to get them off my chest.

That, and also the singer behind possibly the worst song ever made:
