Well, what I actually wanted was Robbie and Take That playing Bomberman (sorry, Dynablaster) on Gamesmaster since they’re back together again, but would you believe that’s not on Youtube?
So instead, on a whim, and reading that Jenny Turner of the parish has a Run the Gauntlet video on her Quizzlestick blog, I wondered if there was any Run the Gauntlet on Youtube. And would you believe it, there is!
“Trem.”
Awesome-ite Sam!
I particularly like the way they let Julian Grant have a go. Booked guest or understudy on standby? We shall never know.
Now I’vew had a chance to watch it with sound, I forgot what a brilliant theme it had (also, perhaps interestingly, perhaps not, the Spectrum game had a really good version of the theme which the C64 didn’t have).
Thos buggies and desert stars looked mental.
In fact, why not compare and contrast?

What were they thinking?

“Hi! This is Martin Shaw, this is Run the Gauntlet. If you’re looking for action sports, ha ha this is the place to be!”
Now the next big question is: has anyone uploaded any footage of Combat with Emelyn Hughes?
“Nerdiest” British game shows in “nerdier” than “nerdiest” American game shows
SHOCKMILD SURPRISE.*preens proudly*
And neither Scavengers nor Interceptor made the list, even.

Last week’s pilot went very well.
God, that is shiny isn’t it!
Interview on This Morning this morning with them making no secret of the fact it’s Talking Telephone Numbers.
Just a shame it’s being ruined by ITV’s greed of making it so easy to enter by just having 2 rather than 5/5 or 6/6 numbers. That kind of ruins it for me.
I agree. Do something new. Or at least, if you are going to do something old, don’t make it worse.
I’m intrigued by the idea that Legends of the Hidden Temple is nerdy.
I think Thursday’s USBB might top the infamous 30-second endurance HOH when it comes to a producer nightmare…
(BTW- the evicted person has only given email interviews and apparently has been sequestered; raising speculation that one of the early evictees will be given a shot at coming back later on in the season. If you didn’t know, the season was supposed to start with 14 HG’s, but one had cold feet and she quit about a week before they went in. That messes up their schedule, but a returnee fixes this.)
Yes, just this last minute finished watching it – hilarious!
I think they’ve had a returning evictee in BB3, BB6 and BB9 – so BBUS as regular as clockwork then.
I wouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet though considering the nature of the first evictee. Although they’ve said it’ll be revealed, they might just keep her in sequester when they try to work out how to rescue the twist.
Would have been so easy to protect the twist to an extent by having a secret “bedsit” on standby so should the saboteur be evicted they could at least keep them round an extra week or so by moving them into a secret area and letting them saboteur from afar.
