Brucie must surely have some good stories to tell, but every article (and there are a lot of them), it’s “Brucie does Tibetan exercises, he was once “Boy Bruce The Mighty Atom”, he married Miss World, he regrets doing so many gameshows.” Yeah… WE KNOW.

He’s made comments along these lines for a couple of years now, and I always think it’s a little sad when he says that – because it was the only thing that kept him in the limelight in the 90s, not that he necessarily should feel compelled to be grateful for the work.

I think you could take an educated guess he’s talking about Play Your Cards Right and Price is Right, but then why go back and do Didn’t They Do Well if he hated it that much? The ‘topping up the bank balance to earn some more free time’ argument doesn’t quite stack up.

I’m intrigued, why those two? If anything, I always got the feeling he was irritated with the way ITV treated them which suggests he quite liked them.

Presumably Takeover Bid has got to be one of them…

I know that he hated doing The Price Is Right – as he tore strips off it (and the then ITV entertainment bosses) during a break in recording for ‘Didn’t They Do Well’ that I went to (and yes, he seemed on autopilot when hosting parts of that particular show as well)

That’s one that can be safely crossed off the board then.

If he regrets Play Your Cards Right, then surely he means the 2002 version and probably the 90s version too?

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars was quite funny.

I have a colleague who looks just like Angelos Epithemiou. If YOU have a friend or colleague who looks like someone associated with gameshows, do send photographic evidence in.
