Jimmy Carr invites a fairly stacked line-up of UK comedians into a room and challenges them to make each other laugh whilst not laughing themselves or risk elimination. The last one left is the winner.
The Documental format has been a worldwide streaming success across the last decade, it’s surprising that it’s taken this long for the UK to get a version – there’s even previously been an Irish version with Graham Norton. But does it work here? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Watched the first two eps – quite enjoyed it, intrigued to see how it develops when it’s down to the harder contestants, also it also doesn’t really help that some of the more overtly funny people are out earlier.
I actually really enjoyed it! Watched these first 4 eps in no time, didn’t even notice how they flew by so fast. I barely laugh as such during it though (yet I still enjoy it), but I think it might be cause I’m trying to, cause you know, that’s the task. But also I’m never sure if I wanna try and play along or just chill and watch. I do think that if it was comedians whom I didn’t really know or like, I might not like this show, but there’s a good bunch of people I like in that house.
It’s so unfair to be on the end of an attack by Greatest Living Englishman Bob Mortimer.
Just watched the first 4 back to back. Absolutely hilarious, didn’t think this would be my cup of tea but within 5 minutes was in hysterics. Desperate to see the last 2 now.
This is stupid comedy at its finest.
How was the Irish version? Was it successful? Will there be a new series for that one? From what I’ve read it looks like the British version is a hit.
I hated the international versions but this is excellent. Really, really funny show. May it run for years and years (assuming the talent’s just as good)!
I always ponder how much talent there is for stuff like this, but I guess Taskmaster’s done 16 series so in theory that’s an easy 80 people potentially.
Watched the Irish one last year but this is much better, probably due to the familiarity of all involved.
Obviously a format Amazon have worldwide rights for but woukd have been a perfect show to air in aid of Comic Relief.
P.S. Aussie House of Ganes is starting soon:
