Right, Paul Brassey wants your help in determining the direction of future televisual endeavours, and anything that intends to improve the genre can only be a good thing. You can find all the details and a fairly lengthy questionaire in a new page linked to up there – What Is It You Want? The title is mine. I will leave the page up for a couple of weeks.
Tangentally: Mart S if you’re reading, the answer to your e-mail which to which my reply seems to have bounced back is “yes that would be lovely, thanks very much.”
And finally this Tuesday evening, the details for the final rounds of The BotherSOP are now up for you to peruse, so you can buy into the Superstack Grand Final right now, then forget about it until about an hour after it started, only to find that because of the nature of the event you’ll still have about 3,500 chips left.
12Yard must like Nick Knowles as he is the host for Perfection.
And if the last doublestack is anything to go by, will be in the final two after everyone else has gone out faster than they usually do.
Ah, but literally the whole series is on the line with this final, it’ll be interesting to see how the gameplay works anyway. Hopefully I can avoid going out when I was NINETY-FIVE percent favourite to win the hand…
I reckon the World Cup match on at the time is likely to feature Argentina and possibly Uruguay (although group A’s quite tough to call, I think), but I’m not too fussed about missing that one!
…I’d just like to note that the survey being read only might trip a few people up.
Is it?
It’s fine here, how strange. Let me see if I can change it somehow – you’ll need to save it rather than open it from the link.
…Yeah, fine, ok, clicked the wrong button.
“Are there any shows from overseas that you would like to see on British television?”
Run for Money, Run for Money, Run for Money.
Thanks. 😉
Though some really fascinating questions in it, should be interesting to answer.
Is it safe to say that non-UK residents should stay away from the survey so as to not muddle up the results?
I’m surfe it would be fine if you did it – shows sell internationally, after all.
Art and other overseas people, please do complete the survey if you have time, you can ignore any questions you don’t feel qualified to answer. Please do note your home country on the email, though. Also, just to be clear, CPL are happy for me to be the person leading this, but they’re pretty much leaving me to it, so please address any questions or comments to me directly on the email given. Oh, and thanks in advance to everyone who takes part. Every colleague (current and former) I suggested this too thought it was a great idea, and we’re looking forward to seeing if any conclusions can be drawn.
Some quick questions:
1) What’s the deadline on this, please?
2) Will we get to see the findings of the survey?
3) Question for both Brig and Paul: is it OK to pass news of this on elsewhere, to try to get the views of (a) game show fans without the Bar and (b) game enthusiasts who may be marginal game show fans?
Reading your comment I see that questions should be addressed to you on the email given, so I shall do exactly that forthwith, but I imagine that I may not be the only person with these questions.
It’s fine by me to advertise.
The “answering your own question” department notes, in response to question number 2, that the postamble to survey section number five says “I will publish the results in a few weeks for anyone interested.” Good enough for me.
Sorry about that; waste of a question. I’ll pipe down now.
By the way, I should point out that this is only to do with me in so much that Paul asked and I thought it might be interesting, so really do direct all questions to Paul.
Death threats????
What sort of people does he think we are???
