To be honest, apart from Winning Lines, they haven’t bought or shown anything new this year. Apparently rumours were going around that the budget was slashed so the rest went towards the other channels (Living, Bravo, etc…).
Yeah Challenge is all but dead. Challenge infact bought Winning Lines half way through 2009, but for some unknown reason decided to hold it back. maybe they knew things were going to be tight.
Bravo has had a huge cash injection and that has to have come at the expense of Challenge.
Like you guys i have not bothered with it in ages, well apart from the off Fun House if im up early enough on weekends. While on the subject the prizes in the final were simply amazing, i dont remember tripes of Disney World and Australia when i was that age and watching.
I think we will see some EPG shuffles going on on Sky now. If challenge does survive i expect them to be shifted further up for Sky to get some HD versions of Living, Bravo and Sky 1 further down the EPG closer to the begining.
I imagine Virgin 1 is definately a goner on Freeview at least. And as usual, Sky will be allowed to strengthen their monopoly – this deal highlights more than any previously the conflict of interest between platform and channel provider – Virgin have basically sold up to secure Sky channels on cable.
Don’t know, but that’s a fantastic tag.

And Zodiak Entertainment (Boyard owners) buy RDF.
I wouldn’t get overly excited about a Brit Boyard revival if this year (very much a key year) goes badly for the show internationally.
We’ll find out soon.
Loving the ‘most successful game show EVER’ tag. Like nobody’s heard of Millionaire or Deal.
