The non-celeb one, that is, weekdaily from 4:30pm on BBC1 AND IPLAYER.
It will be interesting to see whether/how much of the bigger stakes that the celebs have been offered has made its way to the daily show. Presumably the new EXCITING graphics (i.e. there’s a screensaver of some water in the background now) has made its way across. I quite like how the new arches for the entrances and exits make it all feel like a real life version of Knightmare.
In other news this week, Physical 100 starts on Netflix tomorrow.
Fun fact: at 2022 stakes the biggest prize a team can win is ((22×100)x4)x2 = £17,600. The average prize was something around £10. I’m sure someone will correct me.
Bridge Celebrity Lies in 2023 offers a potential top prize of ((22×200)x3+(22×400))x2= £44,000.
At 2023 stakes, it’s now (22×100)x3+(22×200))x2= £22,000. The structure is the same as the Celebrity edition, but Celebrities play for double the money throughout, as is long-established custom.
I crunched the numbers for Series 1 about when it ended. There were 10 winning teams and 15 losing teams. Overall, £51,575 was banked and £22,320 was won. Largest win was £4,100, with a win of £4,050 coming a close second. Of the 10 winning teams, 9 of them could have won double if they’d sold a player.
I can confirm that both changes from the Celebrity series have been retained for the second Civilian series 🙂
I’m still finding this really compelling and all the changes in series 2 are clear improvements – hope it’s finding an audience because it’s not a typical gentle daytime quiz (and is all the better for it).
It’s doing around 1.2m I understand which they’ll take.
