Sorry, it completely slipped my mind that this was on which is why it hasn’t appeared until after the first show has gone out, Rob Beckett puts the bonds of six celebrity couples to the ultimate test, presumably one couple gets eliminated weekly and so on and so on.
I’m trying not to prejudge, although the fact I forgot it was on isn’t a good sign. Nonetheless, did you watch it? Let us know what you think in the comments!
Might have been a bit quick to overlook this – I mean it’s not amazing or anything, and half of it is basically filler, but the challenges were OK, the bridge one wouldn’t have felt out of place on Survivor (with more interesting editing) and the bungee jumping (with pointless The Lyric Game element) looked and felt sufficiently high up and terrifying.
The biggest issue really is that half to two-thirds of the runtime is basically a non-event, nothing especially interesting or revelatory about the couples, I’m not sure the bridge event required a further 15 minutes of debrief to be honest and then we only got half the bungee jumping – what is this, Netflix?
Enjoyed Rob Beckett. Maria McErlaine was a bit quiet, Anjula Mutanda (Senior Accred) MBACP seemed happy enough to make noise for both which seemed fair enough under the circumstances.
It looks like I wasn’t the only person who forgot this was on yesterday, it was beaten in the numbers by the mighty Bargain Hunt.
