As ever, if you’re watching, feel free to give your opinions on the songs along with marks out of ten. Someone will tot them up to form a result for the Bother’s Bar jury.

And this is the semi-final we can vote in by telephone if you live in the UK.

    Pretty.

…Umm. Wait. Meant to be commenting on the song not the guys chests.

Generic ballad. Suffers from being after Croatia… Did not like that sudden volume change.

    Dancing.

Doesn’t quite work for me, but a well performed not quite working for me.

…Oh, dropping half a point for that ending.

Turkey: I voted for them. Pretty much my favourite entry through this entire contest. Nice bit of Anatolian angsty rock. Well, because Finland won’t any more…9/10.

Well this is a crazy act from Turkey.

A guy dressed like a Power Ranger, and flashing lights that you’d think could cause the odd seizure…

    Turkey

Flashing light, strobe, leather, and Stig striptease warnings, apparently.

    …Generic Glam Rock then.

Unfortunately that carries over to the tune, not just the stylings.

    Oh, it’s a CylonStig.

Not seen the promised strip tease yet.

Oh. strip tease with a circular saw. Umm.

I recorded my 9 as a 9.5 argh. Anyway, switch Lithuania with Turkey, as Turkey’s now an 8.5.

…But only on the averages. Odd. I’ll be doing the score thing between me Alex and the metamind, Alex will do for the Bother’s Bar jury results, though I don’t think includes Pyro’s two votes or Des’s one.

Actually, after looking at the run-through of all of tonight’s acts, it doesn’t look like the chances of Niamh and Ireland getting through are tremendously high… πŸ™

Turkey and Lithuania will be back on Saturday for sure after their crazy displays, and I wouldn’t say no about Armenia, Romania, Ukraine and Slovenia either.

Plus expect at least one act that hasn’t rated highly here, like Azerbaijan (one of the pre-contest favourites, don’t forget) or Georgia to be performing again in two nights’ time…

I’ve still got my fingers crossed for Niamh, mind.

I think we can all agree that this semi was far better than Tuesday’s, though.

Paddy doesn’t think there’s any doubt we’re watching Eurovision.

“There are a lot of rules” says one of the hosts.
“And they change every year.” comments Paddy.

Hey, yesterday a 5.75 from us would have been in our midtable.

    Ukraine’s the second finalist.

One would have been a fool to say that Turkey wouldn’t go through.

    Lithuania NOT through!!!

I take back what I said about them being back on Saturday for sure.

RTE’s Marty Whelan is surprised that Sweden didn’t make it – but I’m not really. Nice to see Denmark through, though.

But it’s GREAT that Niamh will be on again in two nights’ time!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
