You know the drill by now, I’m hoping to lock down a panel by next Thursday. Remember you will need a microphone and Discord. Get in touch if you’re interested – leaving a comment on here or privately messaging me variously is the best way, or there’s a chance I’ll forget you applied.
Simon owes me a pint, so sure.
He doesn’t KNOW that he owes me one, but he owes me one.
Both Mastermind and A League of Their Own back on 23 August.
Turns out A League of Their Own is back a bit sooner, on the 19th.
Mastermind returns at 7.30, completing the Quizzy Monday triple. Quite how that works with the cricket on 6 and 13 September is anyone’s guess. Is it cowardly to pray for rain?
Quite a wild question so i’m gonna put it here : have the call-in and lose phone games gone wild recently in the UK (or any of your respective countries) ? TF1’s went nuts, offering no less than a gigantic million € tax-free in their latest phone competition, airing every day in 12 Coups (and repeated inside two short programs before midday/evening news), one winner in a two-month span. Quite ridiculous if your’re asking me but eh.

Not really, like yours they’re usually done across a series or two month period, the standard is about £100k in cash and prizes, but ITV do tend to have several on the go at once – one for their morning programming and their afternoon and primetime quizzes tend to have their own one.
That TF1 can offer a million is kind of an indication on how lucrative they are.
ITV did one for a million in 2015, and I had to look that up to see if anyone had ever done that in the UK. Heart ran a competition with the same name Make Me A Millionaire this year and last but that had an element of risking an offered amount of a few thousand for a place in the draw. I don’t think if this has always been the case and I’ve just not noticed it as well, but I’ve noticed ITV have extended the morning competition to the various live cookery shows they have on Saturday mornings as well rather than just being weekdays. The prizes tend to be about £70,000 in cash plus a fairly expensive car like a Mercedes or a BMW, to bring it up to well over £100k normally. With the cash alone that’s as much as the first 3 Big Brother winners got each, for a £2 text.
