Don’t be alarmed, I figured what with today being EXCITEMENT MONDAY and everything, I’d make separate entries for each of the three shows I’m not going to get to watch until a later time so as to make discussion a bit easier. Here’s one for The Chase.
I’m glad they’ve introduced the three chasers at the start. Anyone know where Anne Heggarty has come from? I seem to remember her being on Brain of Britain last series, but I’m not aware of any other appearences?
A quick search suggests Are You An Egghead? last year as well.
From her appearance and what I have been told, Anne is adapting the tough school headmistress role.
Mark “The Beast” Labbett will make his appearance tomorrow. Still prefer this over Eggheads.
I asked this over at the Quizzing forums which Anne has replied. Anne is more of a behind the scenes person since her bulk experience comes from the professional quizzing circuit. Her tele CV is little compared to other chasers, appeared on Mastermind twice, 15 to 1 and Today’s the Day.
Wasn’t a fan of this last year – much preferred The Fuse and would have rather seen that return – but with a capable presenter (and no obvious post-edit dubbing!)
I’ve been thinking a little- I don’t know if the penalty if the Chaser misses a question in the final round and the players get it right is enough anymore (pushing the chaser back one question)- maybe it should be a time penalty instead (5 seconds off the clock- maybe even 10 seconds because the Chaser can blitz though questions so fast)…
Usually depends on the team. I remember quite a few episodes in the original run going right down to the last 5 or so seconds.
