Vegas and Herring will be amazing, don’t know enough about the rest to make a judgement. It isn’t a particularly C4 lineup at all , so hopefully those concerns will be quashed. Herring has been promising a secret TV show he’d been working on for a few months now, so the clues for that were there.
Also Richard Herring’s appearance puts the urban legend – perpetuated by Alex himself a bit – that if you ask to be on Taskmaster, you can never appear on Taskmaster
Perhaps in the early stages it was true when it was not as popular but now that is one of the most highly rated new formats out there, it was bound to happen sometime
it is quite a C4 lineup actually. Katherine Parkinson = IT Crowd, Jonny Vegas did celebrity Gogglebox very recently as well as Daisy May Cooper. She is due to drop so was pregnant during task filming. The others haven’t really done much for C4 except for Mawaan who did harry hills comedy night show last year.
So by very ‘Channel 4 line up’ you mean people who have been on Channel 4 at some time in history but have equally been on other channels just as much?
His time is taken up by Taskmaster, of course, but given the whole aesthetic of that trailer and what I imagine is the underlying task there… can I just spend a brief moment contemplating what Alex Horne’s The Mole would be like?
Mmmmmmm. I yield to few in my admiration of The Button, but it didn’t fill me with confidence that Alex would have the “can’t argue back against him” nature to make a series of The Mole with a traditional atmosphere work. Greg Davies hosting it, on the other hand, I could see…
I do like the TM lineup, not least because of how much of a straight-down-the-line Dave lineup it is.
So we’re agreed, Rick Edwards hosting, Alex Horne and Tim Key heading up the challenge development team.
Get to it, telly people.
Andrew, the Yank
I finally started watching the show about a week ago and have finished the first three series already, and I’ve definitely thought more than once about an Alex Horne produced Mole. I think it’d be brilliant.
Gordon Ramsay to host a new quiz for ITV Bank Balance. An interesting choice of host there. Any inside knowledge on this format from the bar?
As for Taskmaster Johnny Vegas was somebody I was hoping would do it. I know of Richard Herring don’t think I’ve ever seen him in anything. As for the rest no idea who they are.
For some reason it feels familiar, but off the top of my head I can’t say I know anything. We’re probably due a Stool Pigeon soon, perhaps something will turn up.
I…have genuinely no idea who Mawaan is.
You’re not alone there. A comedian, apparently.

Belgian Mole gets very Taskmaster at times anyway, I’d love to see that.
Oh, I could definitely see that working. He has the Papa Bear spirit when it comes to tasks.

That wasn’t clearly expressed – I mean it looks very much like the sort of lineup I would expect if the show were still on Dave.
I think Alex creating the challenges at least would work.

Is this a joke? Didn’t you go on stage with them to bounce pens off the top of your head? Or was that something else?
*scratches head*
I can’t work out where you’re quoting this from. I certainly do know Richard Herring, and he certainly has thrown pens at my head.
Sorry, I got lost in the nesting. I’ve mistaken Greg’s message as yours.
Sadly I’m not as skilled in making gameshow noises 😉
Here’s a article I found which provides some vague hints (sorry, it’s the sun, only thing I could find)
http://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/12260911/gordon-ramsay-quiz-host-itv-show-bank-balance/amp/
Interestingly the show is produced by ramsay’s own production company so him being the host makes more sense now.
They liken it to “who wants to be a millionare?” and can see the format being sold across the world. So they’re not setting the bar high then.

Bank Balance? Well, I’m sure the title tells us everything we need to know.
