Whether this lives or dies depends on how the juries feel about it. I think they’re trying to go down the Austria 2018 route, and unless it’s well staged the we aren’t leaving the bottom 5.
It’s a good song, but just like last year’s song it’s just not exciting or memorable enough for Eurovision. If most people won’t remember it by the time it gets to the televotes, it just can’t do well. An emotional song like this needs a big memorable moment to stop it from being boring, and it’s not there.
Also, Radio 1 pretty much immediately leap-frogged onto the “but everyone hates us anyway so who cares” bandwagon. I invite you all to attempt to contain my surprise.
