Barnstorm have got four places in the iOS Top 10 paid for app charts with their various TV quiz adaptation apps, and rightly so.
I’m going to stick my neck out and suggest this next one probably isn’t going to join them.
Haven’t played it yet – might be a terrific appterpretation of a non-hit show. Will try and do a Plays Badly of it in the near future. All the bumpf here.
When Barnstorm announced they were releasing a new TV quiz app around this time, I immediately (but desperately wanted) Cash Trapped; too many minor, but important, changes to the show they would have to put in place. House of Games, I would have thought, but BB has taken me by total surprise.
In all honesty, it’s either going to be an amazing app or a shite app. Should I get it?
I have it downloaded, I’ll see if I’ve got a chance to play it tonight, otherwise it will be Sunday.
Impressions, around two hours after putting my original comment:
Have brought the app, and I am pleased to say it was surprisingly decent, but falls quite short on Barnstorm’s usual standards (think the high standard of Tenable).
7/10- good, could be better
I had a a play about last night, I think it’s up to Barnstorm’s usual slickness (pretty much everything you could want covered is covered, all forms of local multiplayer). Question bed a bit loud but nothing you can’t turn off. The way they’ve handled multiple choice in the Gold Run is quite interesting (each word in the answer is a 1 in 8 multiple choice), probably the best way they could have handled it short of voice recognition, but a little bit slow.
Other than that, well, it’s Blockbusters 2019.
