Welcome to Bother’s Bar’s coverage of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. We’ve not heard any of the songs (including our own, embarrassingly) and we’re working throughout both semi-finals. Knock yourselves out!
We ARE playing @danielpeake‘s Eurovision Bingo though, so check it out.
Thanks Brig – got about 17 entries so far, hoping for a late surge as I think it’s going to be quite fun. There’ll be a new bingo card for the Final when we know who the finalists are.
And don’t worry Mole watchers, I haven’t forgotten about the Suspect List – I just haven’t had a chance to watch De Mol! I’m currently on episode 4, and will endeavour to get through the remaining episodes over the next few weeks.
In a related field- don’t know if this has been mentioned, but The Hit List starts on the 25th…

I thought this had fallen into the pit of TV oblivion, considering that I heard nothing about it for what seemed like an age.
Also looks like they’ve nicked a catchphrase from Divided in the press release.
National Geographic Channel is getting into the reality competition biz:
https://deadline.com/2019/05/nat-geo-race-to-the-center-of-the-earth-competition-series-amazing-race-producers-1202614228/
Basically, four groups of extreme adventurers will start at different corners of the earth and race nonstop to try to get to the point all the routes meet in the ocean where a buoy containing US $1million is located….it’s sort of Extreme Amazing Race (but no eliminations and no pitstops) and is actually produced by the TAR US people.
Imagine if they have a real million in the buoy and it floats away. Unlikely, given that early Millionaire didn’t even use real money in the podium when that was safely in a studio, but still funny to think about.
I wonder how they’re defining “corners” on this weird ball hurtling through space at high speed. Maybe it’ll be like International Gladiators where we’re supposed to pretend the four “corners” of the earth include Finland Of All Places.
With four completely distinct routes, it sounds like it’d really be a pain to balance. An interesting challenge for their research team!
