Let’s have a round up:
- Release the Hounds returns to ITV2 in January.
- Laura Whitmore will be hosting ITV2’s upcoming battle-of-the-sexes reality show Survival of the Fittest.
- Good news for table tennis fans everywhere, Blind Date has been recommissioned for 12 more episodes for Channel 5.
- Wie is de Mol? is going to Georgia and Belgian De Mol is going to Mexico. This year I will set up discussion pages for both as they’re both great but slightly different takes on the same show, WidM begins January 6th (I believe), DM begins in February.
- Thinking caps on, it’s almost time for the UKGameshows.com/Bother’s Bar Poll of 2017.
- Has anyone watched [Atari] Codebreaker on Discovery Science yet? Worthwhile? Here’s the site.
WIDM Molboekje says premiere is 6/1/18.
Yeah, I think it was you who told me this and I couldn’t find the evidence. Still though.
Same reason I know that the finale is March 10th at VondelCS again.
Ellen’s Game of Games premiered last night, which I’m writing here to remind myself to watch when I get in.
Will write about this tomorrow, but it’s certainly an easy way to spend an hour.
Codebreaker: first half is a science-ish quiz, using a touch-screen on single-answer and sequence questions. Back half is fun with integer sequences, with the prospect of a big prize for the winner.
A decent way to spend a half hour: the questions are interesting without being too hard, and there’s genuine tension towards the end. On the negative side, I found it more frantic than it needs to be, and the final is often an anti-climax – either the player gets it and knows they’ll win the big prize, or they’re flailing around in the dark.
Martin Cole hosts, a friendly and ebullient presenter. He’s the best thing about the show – watchable, but nowhere near appointment to view.
Thanks, will endeavour to view.
