Struggling for inspiration a bit after the recent bout of new show excitement, I note that Bother’s Bar favourite Countryfile was doing its annual One Man and His Dog special last night.
OMaHD is a sheepdog trial competition where a shepherd and his dog must guide a flock of sheep round a course using nothing but teamwork, strategy and cunning. It ran as a competition on BBC Two between 1976 and 1999 and then run as a series of Christmas specials every year before merging with Countryfile in 2013. Flockstars is unaffiliated.
Unfortunately footage of the original series is hard to “come-by”, so here picked at random is last year’s special on Youtube.

Channel 4 have a new sales pitch show with Brian Conley, where people have 90 seconds to pitch their product to a reasearch group of customers.
This might be old, but I’ve just noticed iplayer has gained a”From the archive” section. A brief poke around has shown up episodes of Animal, Vegetable Mineral, Ask the Family, Holness/Toksvig/Coren era Call My Bluff and Quizball.
I believe that’s been there for at least a year, some good shows though. It would be nice if they added more.
From the Archive has in actual fact launched today, but they’ve had some curated collections up for a while, the old quizzes were chosen by Richard Osman: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/group/p02nm7g8
